Nam Phu commune has just completed a general cleaning, preparing to operate a two-level local government from July 1.

In late June 2025, all the roads, headquarters, offices, and cultural houses of Nam Phu commune were newly cleaned to make the environment bright, green, clean, and beautiful... to celebrate the announcement ceremony of the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the city's decisions on the implementation of the organization of two-level local government.

To ensure good environmental sanitation in the new Nam Phu commune, the People's Committee of Nam Phu commune has mobilized departments, branches, organizations, agencies, units and people in the area to participate in general environmental sanitation. Accordingly, on June 29, 100% of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the commune participated in general cleaning at the People's Committee headquarters, offices and halls. Along with that, the working space was rearranged to be neat, tidy and friendly, effectively serving people and organizations coming to do transactions. The Youth Union actively participated in environmental sanitation at the martyrs' cemetery, cutting grass, sweeping along main roads, collecting garbage, clearing bushes, unclogging drainage pipes, removing billboards and advertisements in public areas, main traffic routes, crowded places... The commune also completed hanging banners, billboards, streamers and hanging red flags at 3 commune headquarters (Yen My, Dong My, Duyen Ha), densely populated areas and on major roads of the commune.

On the morning of Monday (June 30), the commune increased its force to maintain environmental sanitation, organized propaganda to departments, branches, organizations, agencies, units, businesses and people in the area to participate in maintaining environmental sanitation, ensuring clean streets, and dumping garbage on time and in the right place.

From July 1, Nam Phu commune officially came into operation, serving the people under the two-level local government model. This is an important step in the process of arranging administrative units according to the policy of the central government and the city, contributing to perfecting the organizational apparatus, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in the area.

Nam Phu commune was established on the basis of merging most of the area and population of Van Phuc, Ngu Hiep, Duyen Ha, Dong My communes (Thanh Tri) and part of the natural area and population of the communes: Yen My, Lien Ninh (Thanh Tri); Ninh So, Duyen Thai (Thuong Tin). Nam Phu commune has a total natural area of 13.60km2, population of 62,044 people. The new commune operates at 2 locations: the Party Committee headquarters is located at the People's Committee of the old Duyen Ha commune and the People's Committee headquarters is located at the People's Committee of the old Dong My commune.
