Verifying clip of old woman being beaten at charity facility in Ho Chi Minh City

On the afternoon of May 25, social networks spread many clips showing an old woman being cursed and beaten by a man.

In a 1 minute and 17 second clip, the man repeatedly yells “Go in! Go quickly!” at the old woman despite her explanation.

The clip also shows the man swinging his arms and kicking the old woman repeatedly. Meanwhile, the old woman begs, “Please, don’t hit me anymore. I’m in pain.”

Other clips show the man cursing, calling the old woman “you” and “me,” and beating her. The man’s harsh treatment of the old woman was witnessed by many other elderly people living in the same room.

According to information from netizens, the incident occurred at a charity facility called "TK Inn" in Thanh Loc Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City.

This facility belongs to the TK charity and social protection fund, which specializes in supporting homeless elderly people, abandoned children, and pregnant mothers in difficult circumstances. It receives money and charitable gifts from everywhere.

Regarding the clips showing signs of elder abuse, this afternoon, District 12 authorities coordinated with Thanh Loc ward to verify.
