In the process of transitioning to commodity agriculture , promoting and expanding the market is not only a need, but also an important lever for local agricultural products to reach further.


To help local agricultural products gain a foothold in the market, over the years, Bac Kan province has accompanied and supported cooperatives and enterprises in trade promotion and advertising of agricultural products. No longer isolated and sporadic activities, the programs are organized more and more systematically and diversely, creating conditions for production units to access larger markets.

Many specialty and endemic products of the province such as vermicelli, green squash, tea, dried bamboo shoots, seedless persimmons, citrus fruits, etc. have been present at major fairs inside and outside the province. Notable promotional activities in recent times include: OCOP Agricultural Products Festival and Culinary Culture of 6 Viet Bac Provinces held in 2024; Regional Specialty Fair of the Song Cau Basin held in April 2025... In addition, the province has also promoted trade promotion activities in foreign markets such as Korea and Japan, thereby providing information about products, attracting a large number of tourists and businesses to visit and connect for consumption.

The province also actively coordinates with central ministries and branches in connecting with the supermarket system. the E-commerce platforms participate in the consumption of Bac Kan agricultural products. Thanks to that, cooperatives and businesses have gradually approached the market more professionally, instead of just depending on traders or small retail markets as before.


Not only stopping at displaying products, cooperatives have begun to be more proactive in innovate product promotion methods. At many fairs, typically the booth of Tai Hoan Cooperative (Na Ri) became a popular destination thanks to the on-site processing of dishes from dong vermicelli. Customers not only saw the products, but also enjoyed the typical taste of clean vermicelli from the highlands, thereby making it easier to make a purchase decision.


Similarly, Ngoc Thang Agricultural Development and Medicinal Processing Company Limited created an on-site tea-drinking space, helping customers better understand the tea-making process and the characteristics of each type of green tea and herbal tea. Many other units also take advantage of social networking platforms to livestream sales, film videos introducing products, contributing to renewing the image of Bac Kan agricultural products.

Up to now, the whole province has had 245 products meeting the OCOP 3-star standard or higher, including 04 5-star products and 21 products meeting the 4-star standard. However, to maintain and improve the quality of OCOP, it requires production units to continue to standardize processes, invest in packaging, designs, traceability, and constantly focus on improving quality .
In addition, many cooperatives and businesses still face difficulties in communication and connection with consumers. Some units have good products, have achieved OCOP certification, but do not know how to introduce and promote effectively, leading to products having difficulty competing in the market.

Along with the promotion and market expansion, Bac Kan continues to promote the restructuring project of the agricultural sector, identify key crops, maintain and improve the quality of raw material areas. In which, it continues to develop medicinal plant areas, fruit trees, specialty plants, high-quality rice, etc. Promote the organization of agricultural promotion events. products associated with experiential tourism, building programs to introduce agricultural products in major cities, supporting trade promotion funds for qualified cooperatives. At the same time, promoting the application of digital technology and training in sales skills.

On the part of cooperatives and enterprises, they need to be more proactive in investing in communications, building their own brands, standardizing production and product quality, constantly improving designs, and aiming for professionalism in each product when launched on the market.
When the product is well made, properly promoted, and consumers know and trust it, that is when Bac Kan agricultural products step out of the bamboo village, affirming their own position./.
