On the afternoon of October 8, the People's Committee of Nam An Phu commune coordinated with Vang Agricultural Development Joint Stock Company to organize a conference to deploy the process of safe onion production for the winter crop of 2025 - 2026.
Nam An Phu commune has the largest onion growing area in Hai Phong with about 900 hectares. Farmers in the commune have experience in intensive onion cultivation, but cultivation and production are still based on habit, without a systematic and synchronized production process. Therefore, the locality wishes to develop a safe production process for farmers to apply. From there, build the Nam An Phu onion brand, contributing to improving productivity, quality and economic efficiency of the local key agricultural products.
At the conference, business representatives shared with the people about the process of producing onions in an organic, safe and export-standard manner. Production techniques are implemented synchronously from seed selection, land preparation, planting, care to harvesting and preservation.
In the winter crop of 2025 - 2026, Vang Agricultural Development Joint Stock Company will build a safe onion production model in Nam An Phu commune with an area of 12 hectares and 70 participating households. The enterprise will support farmers with seeds, fertilizers and production techniques. At the same time, it commits to consuming all post-harvest output. If the model is effective, Nam An Phu commune will study expanding the area and scale of production.
