With a deposit of only 2,800 USD, customers can “reserve” and receive the car early thanks to the number of nearly completed cars that have been prepared. The U7 has remarkable operating parameters. The Standard version uses a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration, with a capacity of 315 horsepower and 528 Nm of torque.

The car comes with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery pack, for a range of up to 830 km. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 5.88 seconds. The Pro version is upgraded with two AWD motors, total capacity of 489 horsepower, still using the 96.3 kWh LFP battery, but the range is reduced to 770 km.

The YU7 supports 5.2C fast charging technology, with a capacity of up to 528 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes. If in a hurry, users only need 15 minutes of charging to continue traveling 620 km, a significant step forward in practicality in the electric SUV segment.

The car has a high-chassis design inspired by the SU7 sedan, Xiaomi's first model. The car is 4,999 mm long, 1,996 mm wide, 1,608 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The X-shaped headlights and C-shaped taillights create a unique visual highlight.

The interior is meticulously designed: Nappa leather seats, 123-degree reclining zero-gravity driver's seat, and electrically adjustable rear seats that recline up to 135 degrees. The center of the dashboard is a 1.1-meter wide HyperVision screen, incorporating three mini LED screens. The rear seats also have their own 6.68-inch touchscreen.

The car is also equipped with a voice-controlled AI virtual assistant, a 4.6-liter mini fridge, a 25-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, and supports the entire Apple ecosystem such as CarPlay, Apple Music, Apple Watch...

All YU7 versions integrate lidar, Nvidia's Thor processor chip, and Xiaomi's self-developed semi-autonomous driving support system with a training database of up to 10 million clips. Promises a safe and smart driving experience in urban areas as well as on highways.

With a price about $1,400 cheaper than the Tesla Model Y and superior specifications in many aspects, the Xiaomi YU7 is expected to be a strategic card to help Xiaomi accelerate in the electric car race in China.

According to the company's CEO Lei Jun, the YU7's sales are expected to be three times higher than the SU7 model launched last year, and this is entirely possible, especially when SUVs are accounting for a 3:1 ratio compared to sedans in the Chinese electric vehicle market.
