Request for approval to organize the Festival of Lady of Sam Mountain in 2025

On the morning of March 28, Chau Doc City held an expanded meeting of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee at the end of March 2025, approving the proposals for approval from the City People's Committee.

The conference focused on discussing Document 1379/TTr-UBND, dated March 24, 2025, on requesting permission to organize the Ba Chua Xu Festival in Sam Mountain in 2025 in terms of scale, activities... after the Festival was recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The ceremony is expected to be held from now until May 24 (April 27 of the lunar calendar), with rituals of the procession of the Lady's statue, the bathing ceremony, the ceremony of inviting the God's decree, the Tuc Yet ceremony, the Xay Chau ceremony; the Chanh Te ceremony, the Hoi sac ceremony... The festival will be held from April 1 to May 22 (March 4 to April 25 of the lunar calendar), including cultural and artistic activities, sports, competitions, cuisine...

Chau Doc City Party Secretary Lam Quang Thi assigned the City People's Committee to report to the Provincial People's Committee to request approval for organization and implementation scale, in the direction of assigning Chau Doc City to preside over the implementation of the festival's contents as usual every year. After receiving the province's decision, the locality will implement it accordingly. However, the activities to request the Provincial People's Committee's opinion must be proposed in a practical and effective manner, meeting the needs of the people and tourists; contributing to preserving and promoting the value of the newly registered heritage; serving and retaining tourists when coming to the locality during the peak of the festival.
