Police work with violators

In order to increase likes, comments, shares, and interactions with personal Facebook accounts to serve online goods trading activities, taking advantage of the curiosity of some Facebook users about "sensitive" video clips leaked on the internet, on October 2, 2023, Ms. N. (residing in Loc Vinh commune) created a Zalo group to repost these video clips.

After that, Ms. N. used her personal Facebook account to post “like-baiting” posts with comments containing links to the Zalo group, when someone asked for the link. On October 20, feeling that her actions might violate the law, Ms. N. voluntarily dissolved the Zalo group and removed the posts on her personal Facebook page.

Based on the results of the investigation and verification, Phu Loc District Police issued a decision to administratively sanction Ms. N. for the act of "Providing and sharing information promoting bad customs, superstitions, obscenities, depravity, and incompatible with the nation's traditions and customs", stipulated in Point b, Clause 1, Article 101 of Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020 of the Government (amended and supplemented by a number of articles in Decree No. 14/2022/ND-CP dated January 27, 2022 of the Government) with a fine of 5 million VND.

Through the above incident, Phu Loc District Police recommends that organizations and individuals participating in activities on cyberspace must strictly comply with legal regulations on providing and sharing information content on the network. It is strictly forbidden to use cyberspace to commit illegal activities.
