On the afternoon of June 25, Nam Dinh Steel Club officially announced the tournaments that the team will compete in the 2025/26 season. Accordingly, coach Vu Hong Viet and his team will compete in 5 arenas: National Super Cup (August 9), V-League, National Cup, Southeast Asian Club Cup and AFC Champions League Two.
This is the first time in the history of Vietnamese football that a team has participated in 5 tournaments at the same time in one season. With many tasks, the team from Thanh Nam must have carefully prepared its forces.
Coach Vu Hong Viet said that, in addition to the goal of defending the V-League championship to win the championship for the third consecutive time, Nam Dinh Green Steel has great ambitions when participating in regional and continental arenas.
"This season, we had the opportunity to compete in the AFC Champions League Two and learned a lot. When facing strong teams like Hiroshima, although the team lost, we learned a lot: from tactics, how to operate the game, to the fighting spirit. Those lessons helped the Nam Dinh Blue Steel improve a lot in the final stage of the V-League. The players also matured significantly after such matches.
Defending the championship this season is great, but I understand that next season will be even more difficult, as we have to compete in many different arenas. Therefore, the team needs to clearly define each specific goal. After celebrating the championship, the team's leaders and I sat down to discuss more thoroughly the direction in the coming time," said coach Vu Hong Viet.
Next season, Thep Xanh will welcome the very important return of Nguyen Xuan Son. He is the main striker not only for the Thien Truong home team, but also for the Vietnam National Team .
"I want to play for the Vietnamese team and the Nam Dinh Steel Club for a long time. Whenever I am on the field, I give my all. I am sad that the Vietnamese team lost heavily to Malaysia and I want to help the team take revenge in the second leg. Football is an 11-player sport , so the Vietnamese team still has a chance, it is not over. We will fight to the end," Xuan Son expressed his high determination.
