First book published about the life of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

With the documentary support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea and the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jo Chul Hyeon - the book's author, vividly described the achievements of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during his tenure as Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee (2000-2006), Chairman of the National Assembly (2006-2011) and the process of becoming the highest leader of Vietnam after the 11th Party Congress.

The book has 420 pages, including 4 chapters, chapter 1: Destiny, chapter 2: The critic's pen; chapter 3: The period for the people and chapter 4: The period of adaptation, detailing stories that not many people know about the youth and university years of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The book also writes about the General Secretary's determination to eliminate corruption and the "Bamboo Diplomacy" policy, the high-level talks between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong with US President Joe Biden and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in 2023.

In addition, the book also collects and introduces many articles by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong after graduating from the Faculty of Philology, Hanoi University of Science (now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi), joining the Communist Party and working as a reporter at "Communist Magazine" - the political theory agency of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Mr. Jo Chul Hyeon shared: I was really looking forward to being able to interview General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong directly, but unfortunately I couldn't. Instead, I carefully read the General Secretary's university graduation thesis, his thesis when studying abroad in the Soviet Union, as well as documents that his university classmates and journalism colleagues said about him and tried my best to write a book without any regrets...

When reading the manuscript of the book, Professor Ahn Kyong-Hwan - Principal of Foreign Affairs of Nguyen Trai University (former President of the Vietnam Studies Association in Korea) commented that "this is an almost perfect biography of a great man"...

As planned, the book launch will be held on the evening of April 13 in Hanoi . The Vietnamese version of the book will also be published soon and will be given to all school libraries across Vietnam.
