On the afternoon of July 29, Miss Ý Nhi appeared in a livestream, officially speaking out about the controversial statements after her coronation.
The new beauty queen burst into tears, apologized to the audience and admitted that she had many shortcomings when expressing her opinion that "many young people spend their time drinking milk tea and sleeping, while I go to beauty pageants".

She said: "I just won the crown, lack of experience in interviews. I want to apologize to the audience for making people misunderstand and upset about me. I really never thought I would be a beauty queen with inaccurate statements.
In the past few days, I have been continuously interacting with the media, so sometimes my statements may not have been sober. I hope that in the future, I will have more accurate and appropriate shares so that everyone can have a more correct view of me."
Regarding her statement about her boyfriend, Ý Nhi explained: "My boyfriend often tells me that he will always try for himself so that people do not compare me and him. We both try for each other. Even since we were in school, we always tried to study better, to be good children and good students."
Finally, Y Nhi said she always wants to bring positive values to the audience. "I hope everyone will forgive my immaturity and look forward to what I will do in the future," the beauty said.
Ms. Pham Kim Dung - Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2023 - also appeared in the livestream and gave her opinion in defense of Y Nhi.
"To me, Y Nhi is a sincere girl. Because she is so sincere, when interviewed, she will "say what she thinks, pour out her heart". We promise that Nhi will make efforts and contribute to the community in the future. Only then will people be able to evaluate what kind of person Y Nhi is," said Ms. Dung.

Previously, Miss Ý Nhi attracted attention with an interview video on a media channel, in which she expressed her opinion that today's Gen Z generation is not weak but extremely confident, independent, and has achieved many successes at a young age.
Ý Nhi used herself as an example and said that she is more mature than her peers and can become a good example in her new position. However, Ý Nhi's choice of words has caused controversy among netizens.
Specifically, the new beauty queen said: "When I was in school, I was worried about what career I would have in the future, how to become successful quickly, keep up with my aging parents, and how to take care of my family. I didn't see it as pressure but as motivation to try harder."
When talking about the responsibilities of a beauty queen, Y Nhi thinks that she needs to do things that are beneficial to society.
Ý Nhi said: "Compared to the things I want to do, I have to do valuable things. Instead of being like my peers who only spend time sleeping, playing, drinking milk tea, going to coffee shops... I joined the beauty pageant, I am more mature than my friends, and have my own job.
When you were still students, working and studying at the same time, I was already a beauty queen. In that responsibility, I also had to take better care of myself to be suitable for the new position."
The new Miss World Vietnam's comments have sparked much controversy. Most viewers commented that Y Nhi's statements were tactless and "overconfident about herself."
Many young people of the same age as the beauty queen also expressed disagreement with the somewhat "ungraceful" viewpoint of the beauty from Binh Dinh, advising her to be more careful in her choice of words to avoid "getting into trouble with her mouth".

She needs more time to improve her skills and vocabulary to be more intelligent and sympathetic"; "If you are a beauty queen, you are also a normal person like everyone else. Previously, Y Nhi also caused controversy when sharing about her love story with her boyfriend of 6 years. The beauty said that she is now in a new position, a huge leap forward for herself compared to 2-3 months ago. Therefore, she thinks that her boyfriend "must also change quickly, progress more to be able to keep up with me".
Huynh Tran Y Nhi was born in 2002, from Binh Dinh. She is 1.75m tall, with measurements of 79-59-89cm, and is currently a student majoring in Business Administration at the International University - Ho Chi Minh City National University.
Before being crowned Miss World Vietnam 2023, Huynh Tran Y Nhi won the runner-up prize at the 2022 Binh Dinh Student Charm contest.
