On October 5, a working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - inspected a number of construction material mines in the eastern part of the province, preparing supplies for major infrastructure projects such as Bai Goc Port and Hoa Tam Industrial Park.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the two mines that were recently successfully auctioned include Cay Me quarry (Hoa Xuan commune) and Da Rang river sand mine (Tay Hoa commune), both of which have large reserves, meeting the material needs for regional-scale projects.
Cay Me Mine, 60.24ha wide, was auctioned on September 25 with a starting price of 39 billion VND, a company in Hanoi won the auction with a total cost of 292 billion VND. This area has no forest, mainly bare land and bushes.
The Da Rang River Mine is 70.48 hectares wide, with a starting price of 25 billion VND and a local construction company won the auction with 329 billion VND. The area is alluvial land along the river, managed by the Commune People's Committee.
Both mines have been updated in the land use planning until 2030, in line with the industrial and construction development orientation of the eastern region.
In addition to the two mines above, the delegation also surveyed other soil, rock and sand mines to assess the potential of construction materials in the 2025 - 2030 period.

Mr. Van requested departments and branches to promptly complete mining licensing procedures, ensuring the supply of materials for key projects. At the same time, he requested businesses to comply with environmental and safety regulations and restore the status quo after mining.
"This inspection is not only to review the situation of auctioned mines, but also an important preparation step to ensure a stable and transparent source of construction materials.
Thereby, the province is determined to prevent speculation and price increases during the implementation phase of large-scale infrastructure projects in the east of the province," he emphasized.
