Towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Nhan Dan Newspaper cooperated with technology partners to implement the Project "Love Vietnam" to install NFC chip panels (wireless connection technology) at famous historical, cultural and tourist sites in Gia Lai province. The activity aims to promote historical and cultural sites across the country, contributing to the development of tourism in Vietnam.
The project “Love Vietnam” in Gia Lai province is being implemented at three historical, cultural and tourist sites of the province, including: Great Unity Square (Hoa Lu ward, Pleiku city); Bien Ho (T'Nung Lake) (Bien Ho commune, Pleiku city); Tea Garden - Hundred-year-old pine trees (Nghia Hung commune, Chu Pah district).
Bien Ho, also known by the locals as Ia Nueng or T'nung Lake, is a freshwater lake located 7km northwest of Pleiku city, at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level. The water source of Bien Ho is strictly kept clean, because this is the freshwater lake that supplies water to Pleiku city.
Pleiku Lake Scenic Area.
Bien Ho consists of two connected reservoirs, nearly 300 hectares wide, with clear emerald green water, located in the middle of a high mountain area, with a strip of land running into the middle of the lake, allowing visitors to see the entire Bien Ho.
The road down to the Sea Lake is winding and picturesque, with lush green pine trees on both sides. At the end of the road are stone steps leading visitors to admire the poetic beauty of the Sea Lake. This place used to be a lookout for visitors to admire the Sea Lake.
The hundred-year-old pine trees are located in Nghia Hung Commune, Chu Pah District, Gia Lai Province, about 15km north of Pleiku City. The elders here said that the pine trees are now exactly 100 years old.
In the early 90s of the last century, Bien Ho Tea Company encountered many difficulties, the company did not have enough money to pay the workers. The company's management board planned to sell this pine tree, however, when they started to cut down a few trees, the company's union representative promptly stopped them and together preserved them until today. Along with Bien Ho, Chu Dang Ya volcano, the Great Unity Square with hundreds of years old pine trees has become an ideal check-in point that cannot be missed by tourists when visiting and experiencing the mountain town of Pleiku-Gia Lai.
Hundred-year-old pine trees are associated with the childhood of many generations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mi Sa, living in Nghia Hung commune, Chu Pah district, shared that she grew up with rows of hundred-year-old pine trees standing tall on both sides of the road. Her childhood was associated with the road to school, and the hundred-year-old pine road was a familiar, rustic image for people living nearby.
The check-in point has a lot of new content, introducing beautiful images of hundred-year-old pine trees, as a bridge to convey the beauty of the homeland to the domestic and foreign tourist community, which is the pride of the people here.

The chip-embedded panels are designed in two colors, yellow and red, inspired by the Vietnamese national flag, and can operate automatically without a power source. When arriving at the above destinations, visitors using their phones to interact with the NFC chip-embedded panels will be certified to have checked-in at the location, save personal photos, and receive useful information about the location, monument or destination.
Each chip-embedded board will provide stories, images, videos or 3D models of the location or monument where the chip-embedded board is located; at the same time, it provides search, navigation and information features to explore tourist destinations at the current location and neighboring areas. When visitors experience all the chip-embedded points in a locality, they will receive gifts from the program and a digital certificate upon completion of their exploration there.
Ms. Tran Thi Hien, Tay Son Ward, Pleiku City, said that the Great Unity Square is the heart of Pleiku City as well as Gia Lai Province in general. Interacting with the electronic screen at the Great Unity Square helps her and her children have more information and new experiences. For visitors from far away, just interacting here can provide enough information about famous destinations in Gia Lai.
The square was built in 5 years (2007-2012) with a total area of 10.6 hectares, including the following items: Monument "Uncle Ho with the ethnic groups of the Central Highlands", gongs, Uncle Ho temple, Ham Rong mountain model, stone book, stone tower... located in the complex of works: Ho Chi Minh Museum - Gia Lai and Kon Tum branches, Museum of Antiquities, Gia Lai Museum. The yard has an area of over 23,000m2, with over 2,000 trees and 205 grass plots, ensuring events gathering more than 50,000 people at the same time.
Dai Doan Ket Square is located in the center of Pleiku city, Gia Lai province, also known as the big square by locals. Dai Doan Ket Square is one of the typical architectural works of Gia Lai province, an attractive destination for tourists from near and far and a symbol of great solidarity of Vietnamese people.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha, Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province, assessed that the project "Love Vietnam" is a unique idea, applying digital transformation to bring new and interesting experiences to people and tourists. From information to presentation, interactive design is very logical and scientific, easy to use. The application has many languages, helping foreign tourists quickly search for reliable destination data, reducing the time spent searching on social networks.
People and tourists are excited to experience check-in.
After more than 4 months of implementation, there have been tens of thousands of successful check-ins and photo sharing by tourists at NFC chip-mounted panels across the country. From sacred sites such as Lung Cu flagpole in Ha Giang, Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi or Ca Mau cape - the southernmost point of the country, smart interactive stations have appeared.
Mr. Huy Nguyen, General Director of Phygital Labs, said that Phygital Labs has participated in building multi-interactive experience projects in a number of locations such as: Hue Imperial City, Fansipan Lao Cai... However, it was not until cooperating with Nhan Dan Newspaper and implementing " Love Vietnam " that Phygital Labs had the opportunity to carry out a project of international stature.
“Recently, tourism trends have changed a lot. From traditional, conventional tourism, the tourism industry is now moving towards multi-interactive experiences. Especially young people, when coming to a place, they always want to immerse themselves in the local space and have their travel experiences personalized,” said Mr. Huy Nguyen.
According to Mr. Huy Nguyen, “Love Vietnam” is a tour guide, a host who can provide a lot of information, integrating Blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI). This information is not fixed but is updated over time because through AI, the application will learn all the knowledge, grasp the information of previous interactions, from there, provide personalized assessments and instructions.
