Zalo continues to outstrip Facebook and Messenger in Vietnam
The first quarter 2025 report shows that Zalo is still leading the messaging platform with 79% usage rate, far surpassing Facebook and Messenger, while growing strongly in many other areas.

Decision Lab's "The Connected Consumer Q1/2025" report continues to affirm Zalo's leading position in Vietnam. In the messaging platform category, Zalo achieved a usage rate of 79%, surpassing Facebook at 69% and Messenger at 54%.
Zalo's popularity rate also ranks first with 51%, twice as high as Facebook and Messenger. This Vietnamese app has maintained the number one position in all three generations of Gen X, Gen Y and Gen Z for 18 consecutive quarters.
In addition to messaging, Zalo grew strongly in the category of free entertainment content browsing, reaching 38% usage rate. In the news reading segment, Zalo recorded an impressive increase of 27% of users. The product of the same ecosystem, Zing MP3, also holds the top 2 position in online music streaming applications in Vietnam.
