10 people died in traffic accidents in May

According to the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, from April 15 to May 14, there were 13 traffic accidents in the province, killing 10 people, injuring 6 people, and causing property damage of 62 million VND. Compared to the same period, there were decreases in all three aspects: 4 fewer cases (23.5%), 1 fewer death (9.1%), 5 fewer injuries (45.5%). Compared to the previous period, there were 6 fewer cases (31.6%), 5 fewer deaths (33.3%), and 6 fewer injuries (50%).

Regarding patrolling and handling violations, the authorities organized 1,078 patrols and inspections, detecting 3,433 violations; thereby temporarily detaining 420 vehicles, administratively sanctioning 2,127 cases of over 3.9 billion VND, revoking the right to use driving licenses in 92 cases, and deducting driving license points in 233 cases.

In addition, the authorities also organized 4 patrol shifts to ensure railway traffic safety; detected and handled 4 violations, imposing fines of 2.4 million VND. The waterway police force inspected 3 sand mines, discovered 1 sand mine with an expired license; coordinated with the Vung Ro Bay Border Guard Station and the Hoa Xuan Nam Commune Police, Dong Hoa Town to organize 6 patrol shifts, detected and handled 5 violations, imposing fines of 7.5 million VND.
