Ensuring irrigation and drainage water for summer-autumn crop production

According to Dong Cam Irrigation Company Limited, the water discharge at the North main canal is 12m3/s, the South main canal is ^16.8m3 /s, enough water for farmers to plow and sow on schedule. Before opening the water, Dong Cam irrigation system repaired and dredged canals and maintained works, machinery and equipment of the irrigation systems. This summer-autumn crop, Dong Cam irrigation system ensures the supply of irrigation and drainage water for production for nearly 20,000 hectares.

It is forecasted that the weather situation in the coming time will be complicated, drought and heat will continue to occur; the amount of water coming to the main systems of works and reservoirs will decrease, leading to widespread water shortages; at the same time, existing water sources from rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, wells, etc. in localities will also be depleted, causing difficulties in regulating irrigation water for agricultural production. To proactively provide water for irrigation, drainage and drought prevention for the summer-autumn crop in 2025, the company has developed a drought prevention plan for irrigation systems, reservoirs and pumping stations managed and operated by the company.
