According to Vietnam Customs, in November 2023, Vietnam's pangasius export turnover reached more than 155 million USD, up 6% over the same period last year. Cumulative pangasius export turnover in the first 11 months of this year reached nearly 1.7 billion USD, down 27% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, the top 3 largest export markets are China, the US and countries in the CPTPP ( Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement).

Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said that in November, Vietnam's pangasius exports to China and Hong Kong (China) reached over 39 million USD, up 28% over the same period last year. This is the third consecutive month that pangasius exports have seen positive growth in this market.

By the end of November 2023, total pangasius exports to the Chinese market reached more than 530 million USD, down 21% over the same period last year.

The US is the second largest market, spending 251 million USD to import pangasius from Vietnam in the first 11 months of 2023, a sharp decrease of 52% compared to the same period last year. This is the sharpest decrease among all markets.

As one of the main markets continuing to grow in pangasius consumption from Vietnam, in November 2023, the CPTPP market block imported nearly 23 million USD, an increase of 6% compared to November 2022. By the end of November 2023, pangasius exports to this market block reached more than 200 million USD, down 26% compared to the same period last year. In particular, Mexico, Canada and Japan are the markets that recorded positive growth in November 2023 from 2% - 26%.

Pangasius exports to the EU market, after two rare months of positive growth, recorded a 20% decrease in November 2023, reaching only nearly 12 million USD, and a 22% decrease compared to the previous month.

The Netherlands remains the main market in the EU for pangasius products, but this country is no exception to the EU's unusual downward trend. In November 2023, the Netherlands bought only 3 million USD of pangasius, down 38% compared to the same period in 2022.

In addition, some markets recorded positive growth of 2-3 digits including: Brazil reached 14 million USD, up 81%; UK reached 4 million USD, up 28%; Egypt reached 4 million USD, up 55%; Saudi Arabia reached 5 million USD, up 123%.

Since the beginning of this year, Vietnam's pangasius exports in November 2023 recorded the second month of positive growth after increasing in September.
