17 Vietnamese training institutions are in the Asian University Rankings

Quacquarelli Symonds has just announced the results of the 2025 Asia University Rankings (QS AUR 2025). Accordingly, Vietnam has 17 training institutions in this ranking, an increase of two schools compared to the previous time, namely Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Vinh University.

Duy Tan University is still at the top of the list of 17 training institutions in Vietnam, at 127th position. Next is Hanoi National University at 161st position, Ho Chi Minh City National University at 184th position, Ton Duc Thang University at 199th position. In the 300-500 group, there are the following schools: Nguyen Tat Thanh University (333rd), Hue University (348th), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (369th), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (388th), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education and Da Nang University in the 421-430 group...

The lower positions are Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry; Hanoi University of Education, Can Tho University, Vinh University and Ho Chi Minh City Open University. In the 2025 ranking, QS ranked 984 higher education institutions in Asia (of which 142 were ranked for the first time). This ranking result is based on the analysis of feedback from more than 1.9 million votes from scholars and 660,000 votes from employers worldwide. Along with that, QS analyzed more than 175.9 million citations (in the period 2018-2023) from 17.4 million scientific publications (in the period 2018-2022).

Regarding the criteria and ranking weights, QS AUR 2025 maintains the same ranking method when evaluating higher education institutions according to 11 indicators: Academic evaluation 30%; Employer evaluation 20%; Lecturer/student ratio 10%; Lecturer with PhD degree 5%; Number of scientific articles/lecturer 5%; Citation/scientific article ratio 10%; International research network 10%; International lecturer ratio 2.5%; International student ratio 2.5%; Exchange student ratio 2.5% and Exchange student ratio 2.5%.
