According to the Telegram channel “Resident”, more than two thousand troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are surrounded in the Myrnohrad urban area, east of the city of Pokrovsk. The channel noted that fierce fighting is currently taking place in the city center. The AFU General Staff made seven counterattack attempts within 24 hours, but all were repelled by the Russian Armed Forces (RFAF) and then the Russians switched to counterattack, strengthening positions along the entire front line; the Telegram channel "Resident" emphasized.
Russian military analysts are now also confirming the final collapse of the encircled Ukrainian grouping in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad area. They note that the reserve forces that the AFU General Staff recently redeployed to the Pokrovsk front have been partially destroyed, while others are being redeployed to Zaporizhzhia. The AFU General Staff now considers the Zaporozhye region both a defense priority and the “most problematic” part of the battlefield. The RFAF has now attacked the city of Huliaipole, located in the east of Zaporozhye Oblast, from three directions and is also putting pressure on the AFU positions in Stepnohirsk. Meanwhile, the AFU is practically running out of reserves. According to some sources, some of the "fire brigades" deployed earlier in the direction of Pokrovsk – Mirnograd were redirected by the AFU General Staff to Zaporozhye and Dnipropetrovsk, so the Russian breakthrough across the front was again quite easy, because the AFU had certain "looseness". The Ukrainian garrison in the besieged Mirnograd abandoned the southern part of the city and retreated to the central part, the RVvoenkory channel reported. They did so to avoid being cut off and to consolidate their defensive positions. This move also reduced the area of defense, increasing the possibility of resistance.
Readovka channel reported that in the southern Myrnohrad region, the RFAF's control of Sukhe Yar and adjacent forest strips in the northwest was confirmed. It is likely that all remaining areas of central Myrnohrad have passed into the "gray zone", amid the collapse of the AFU's defense system. However, the AFU General Staff has not yet considered completely “giving up” Mirnograd, despite reports of surrenders at some positions. The AFU seems to still hope to break the encirclement. Meanwhile, combined forces of the Ukrainian army and National Guard continue to attack Rodinske and settlements north of Pokrovsk. So, in a sense, it can be concluded that Kiev decided to accept losses in troops to pave the way for breaking the siege of Mirnograd, but this still does not seem to guarantee success. And if the operation fails, the consequences will be doubly serious. The combined forces of the AFU and the Ukrainian National Guard continued to suffer losses in battles with the RFAF 51st Army in the Nikanorovka - Suvorovo - Rodinske area. After heavy losses of infantry, the AFU finally established temporary control over some local areas north of the town of Rodinske. However, the AFU was still unable to achieve a decisive victory by breaking through the enemy's defenses in the fortified areas in the center and north of the city. The RFAF positions went into temporary defense, unable to be defeated by infantry and manpower alone.
In Mirnograd itself, the Ukrainian garrison, concentrated in the city center, was constantly under fire, including from the “super bomb” FAB-3000. Therefore, even if they could “miraculously” create a corridor, there was no guarantee that they would escape the encirclement safely. According to Rybar, the RFAF has finally closed the largest encirclement this fall: Pokrovsk is almost under control, Mirnograd is isolated, and AFU efforts to relieve the siege are being engulfed in RFAF “fire coordinates.” The RFAF is completing control of the Pokrovsk metropolitan area, with some optimistic reports even suggesting that it is over. As for the fate of the Ukrainian troops in the Myrnohrad municipality, the final encirclement was closed in the forest strips west of the village of Rivne. In fact, a “fire coordinate” for the AFU was formed between the village of Rivne in the west and Chervonyi Lyman in the east.
In Mirnograd, the area of operation of Russian assault units is expanding, with UAV-controlled groups advancing into the city, according to the Military Summary channel. Footage of Russian raids is mostly archival, although there is sporadic resistance from the AFU. (Photo source: Military Review, Kyiv Post, TASS).
