Officers and soldiers of Division 390, Corps 12 are ready to take on the task of helping people overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 5.

On the afternoon of August 26, upon receiving the report and request for support from the local authorities, Division 390 reported and asked for instructions from the commander of the 12th Corps Command and mobilized 200 officers, soldiers, and vehicles to quickly arrive at the scene with local forces to reinforce nearly 300m of the collapsed dike, at risk of landslides, to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 5.

Present at the scene and directly commanding the troops, Colonel Pham Van Chuc, Commander of Division 390, affirmed: “We consider helping people and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters to be the Division’s peacetime combat mission. The unit has practiced and prepared for the situations in advance, so I believe that the officers and soldiers of the Division will complete all assigned tasks and ensure the safety of the people.”

Currently, officers and soldiers of Division 390 are actively coordinating with local forces and people to reinforce many weak sections on the Hoat River dike through Ha Long commune, contributing to limiting damage and stabilizing people's lives after storm No. 5.
