22 works won the 9th Mekong Delta Press Award in 2025

BDK.VN - On April 24, 2025, at the Ham Luong Guest House Hall (Ben Tre City), the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the Ben Tre Provincial Journalists Association to organize the 9th Mekong Delta Journalism Awards Ceremony in 2025. Attending the event were Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Tran Trong Dung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi and representatives of leaders of departments and branches, leaders of Journalists Associations of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region.

Awarding the first prize of the 9th Mekong Delta Press Award in 2025 for the 4-part series " Science and technology - key driving force for the development of the Mekong Delta" - author Nguyen Quoc, Bac Lieu Newspaper (print and electronic newspaper genre).

The Mekong Delta Press Award has been held annually since 2016 for journalist members, reporters working at the Journalists Association, press agencies in the Mekong Delta region and resident reporters in provinces and cities in the region.

The award has increasingly attracted many journalists, reporters, and collaborators to participate in many different types of journalism, receiving attention and support from journalists and the press public.

Awarding the first prize of the 9th Mekong Delta Journalism Award in 2025 to the 5-part television documentary series "Nine Dragon River Gates", author group Nguyen Thi Cam Nhung, Nguyen Minh Cuong, Tran Tuan Tu, Bui Tan Vu, Vinh Long Newspaper and Radio and Television Station (radio - television genre).

The 9th Mekong Delta Press Awards 2025, the Organizing Committee received nearly 300 entries with 4 press categories. The Preliminary Council selected 111 best entries for the Final Round. Of the 80 excellent entries, the Final Council selected 22 winning entries this year, including: 2 First Prizes, 4 Second Prizes, 6 Third Prizes and 10 Consolation Prizes.

According to the jury members, the works selected for the final round of this year's Mekong Delta Press Awards represent the innovation and development of regional journalism; demonstrate the positive contributions of journalists in reflecting and orienting public opinion, while also fulfilling the political tasks of each press agency in the region.

Print and electronic newspapers clearly reflect the vibrant lives of people and regions, as well as the aspirations of the provinces in the region to advance in all fields. Topics on Party and government building, environmental protection, and green development are always invested in by press agencies.

Although there are not many radio works in the final round of the Mekong Delta Journalism Awards this year, the topics are quite diverse; the content is close to current events as well as conveys a lot of information that is of interest to the audience. In particular, there are some good policy communication works. Some works have made good use of modern television skills and techniques as well as multimedia tools in their presentation.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam congratulated the Mekong Delta Press Awards, respectfully acknowledged the attention of the leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association and press agencies, and the efforts of journalists to achieve good results.

Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 2,000 national flags to the government and people of Ben Tre province.

On this occasion, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 2,000 national flags to the government and people of Ben Tre province, awarded 50 scholarships to support poor students in Ben Tre province, and the Vietnam Traffic Safety Association presented 200 helmets to students and award-winning journalists.
