3 subjects transporting 9kg of synthetic drugs were arrested

According to information from the Customs Department ( Ministry of Finance ) released on May 14, at 9:00 a.m. on April 30 in the Ban Na Ly area, Chieng So commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province, the Working Group including the Customs Control Team of the Customs Branch of Region VII in coordination with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Dien Bien Provincial Police discovered 3 subjects riding 2 motorbikes with signs of suspicion of illegally transporting drugs.

The task force signaled to stop the vehicle to check people and vehicles.

Accordingly, on the vehicle driven by Vu A Hanh carrying Ha A Ly, the Working Group discovered on the front cargo rack of the saddle a yellow sack of snake carcasses, containing 5 rectangular cakes measuring 16x5x12cm, each cake containing 30 pink and blue plastic bags, inside the plastic bags were pink tablets marked WY, suspected to be synthetic drugs.

When checking the remaining vehicle driven by Ha A Tru, the Working Group discovered a yellow snake bag in the front of the saddle, containing 12 rectangular cakes, of which 11 cakes were about 16x5x12cm in size and one cake was 10x5x12cm in size. Inside the cakes were 350 pink and blue plastic bags, and each plastic bag contained pink tablets marked WY, suspected to be synthetic drugs.

During the investigation, Ha A Tru, Ha A Ly, and Vu A Hanh admitted that the goods were synthetic drugs. The task force made a record of the arrest of the three subjects for the illegal purchase, sale, and transportation of drugs and seized evidence according to regulations.

The total amount of seized evidence includes 17 pink cakes (100,000 synthetic drug pills weighing about 9kg), 2 Honda motorbikes and 3 used mobile phones.

The authorities are continuing to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.
