3 important product and industry groups that need encouragement and priority support

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai has just issued a decision approving important industries and products that need to be encouraged and prioritized to support the implementation of linkages, linking production with consumption of agricultural products in the province according to Decree No. 98/2018/ND-CP dated July 5, 2018 of the Government (Decree 98) on policies to encourage the development of cooperation and linkages in production and consumption of agricultural products.

Accordingly, 3 important groups of products and industries that need to be encouraged and prioritized for support include the group of agricultural products and industries; the group of cattle products and industries; and the group of freshwater, saltwater, and brackish water aquatic products and industries. In particular, the group of agricultural products and industries such as rice, glutinous rice, hybrid corn, dragon fruit, durian, apple, mango, longan, grapefruit, vegetables of all kinds, cashew trees and medicinal plants of all kinds. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to annually review and evaluate according to production development conditions, the ability to balance the budget and ensure, in accordance with the advantages and potential for development of market demand. Thereby, advising the Provincial People's Committee to approve the addition to the list of encouraged products and industries to prioritize support for the implementation of production linkages associated with the consumption of agricultural products according to Decree 98...

It is known that Decree 98 stipulates policies to encourage the development of cooperation and linkages linking production with the consumption of agricultural, livestock, aquatic, forestry and salt products. The subjects of application are farmers, farm owners, authorized persons for farming households and cooperatives; individuals, authorized persons for groups of individuals and households registering for business households; Cooperatives, cooperative unions; enterprises and other organizations and individuals involved in the implementation of this Decree. The preferential and support policies of Decree 98 include support for consulting costs on building linkages; support for infrastructure serving linkages; support for agricultural extension, training, coaching and seeds, materials, packaging, product labels, etc.

After 5 years of implementing Decree 98, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Thuan province said that by 2023, the province has 10 approved and implemented linkage chains in 3 districts of Duc Linh, Tanh Linh, Ham Thuan Nam. Of which, there are 9 district-level chains and 1 provincial-level chain. The total cost of projects and linkage plans approved by competent authorities is 51.5 billion VND, of which the state budget supports 29.4 billion VND...
