It has become a practice at Company 5 (Battalion 5), after each training session, the unit commander conducts an inspection and evaluation of the training results of each soldier, then organizes comments and draws lessons for each comrade. In order to effectively and thoroughly overcome the limitations, under the direction of the Battalion 5 commander, the unit also records the daily training results of each individual in a logbook, then divides them into groups and organizes additional training for comrades who are weaker in training. This is also a measure to "inspecte and evaluate the actual results" in the "3 actualities" model in training work widely deployed by Battalion 5.
Thanks to the test after the AK submachine gun shooting training with the content of shooting and using other weapons to destroy targets during the day and at night, Private First Class Pham Xuan Tan, Soldier of Platoon 1, Company 5, realized many limitations and was taught a lot of experience by the training staff when taking aim, detecting targets at night and became more confident and excited when entering the following training sessions.

“This is a difficult content for me, however, thanks to the enthusiastic guidance and instruction of the training staff during the training process, I have a firm grasp of the techniques. The post-training tests not only help evaluate the results of me and my teammates, but also create a competitive atmosphere among individuals, helping us gain more skills, experience and motivation to strive to train better,” Private First Class Pham Xuan Tan expressed.
In addition to checking and evaluating the actual results, to improve the quality of training, the process of teaching and lecturing soldiers plays an important role and is especially valued by units in Battalion 5. Captain Tran Chi Cong, Captain of Company 5, shared: “We organize training following the motto of “basic, practical, solid”; closely following the core principles when training infantry combat techniques - shooting techniques. Before training, each officer must carefully study the curriculum and documents; draft a lesson plan according to training staff standards, conduct lesson plans, and closely train officers; officers must have a firm grasp of the content and practice the lesson plan thoroughly before going to class. During the training process, we implement correctly, with enough time, number of troops, and correct content; closely following the curriculum and documents”.
Regarding the content and practical training, according to the Captain of Company 5, the unit maintains the correct training content, is loyal to the method, is not hasty, does not skip stages, practices from low to high, practices in segments to comprehensive training; maintains training according to the motto "divide into small, practice a lot", "rotate and change training between units". Training officers must always closely follow the training process of the troops, promptly correct the smallest movement principles, regularly thoroughly grasp and guide the troops on safety rules during training and when using live ammunition.

To improve training quality and ensure effective implementation of the "3 realities" model, in recent years, the unit has invested in preparing training grounds, models, materials, and equipment. Major Nguyen Dinh Tung, Battalion Commander of Battalion 5, said: “In order to achieve high results in training, the Battalion Party Committee and the Party Committees of the units closely follow the policy on implementing the “3 realities” in training, build specialized resolutions to lead training tasks, with specific targets and determined to achieve high results right from the first day and month. The Battalion well implements the motto “Sticking close to the troops, sticking close to the training ground, all for the quality of training and awareness of the troops’ tasks”; “learning what content, testing that content”. Overcoming subjective thinking, taking things lightly, being afraid of difficulties, being afraid of hardships, lowering requirements, cutting down on training content, programs, and time, and resolutely “saying no to the disease of achievements”. Actively innovating the form of organization and testing methods for the squads.
Identifying training and coaching for cadres as the key step, it is known that Battalion 5 conducts a review and correct assessment of the actual capacity of each cadre to organize training according to hierarchy, focusing on training cadres at squad, platoon and company levels. For difficult contents, such as: Tactical training, training on combat readiness transition, etc., select units and cadres as models, practice closely, then conduct unified training as a basis for training for the unit. To further improve the quality of training, the unit maintains and effectively implements the regime through lesson plans, training cadres in weak and new contents. For practical subjects that are difficult for soldiers to absorb, the teaching cadres must "hold hands and show how to do it", combining theory with visualization.
Thanks to the effective implementation of the “3 realities” model, the training quality at Battalion 5 has been continuously improved over the years. Every year, after the end of training inspection, 100% of the units in the Battalion achieve good or excellent results.
