Not following market trends, not making a big splash in the media like young artists or artists in the youth music genre, Duong Thuy Anh has won the hearts of the public and music lovers in her own way. In particular, the appearance of the female artist on the Hue Festival stage with fashion designer Minh Hanh has made a special impression on domestic and foreign audiences. She also regularly performs with famous artists on many domestic and international stages.

At the launch, Creative Director Nguyen Lan Huong said: “Since learning the erhu with teacher Thuy Anh, Nguyen Lan Huong's passion for art has burned within her. The process of contact has helped Thuy Anh and Lan Huong understand each other and accompany each other on this album "Lang". Cherishing the idea and message of the album during the most stressful time of the covid-19 pandemic, Lan Huong hopes that music can heal, so that those sound waves can help people regain balance and interact with their inner world. It is these messages that have determined the style, color scheme, and artistic effects in the album "Lang".
With the MV "Crossing the Forest" are layered melodies with many energy fields, bringing listeners a peaceful, poetic, gentle feeling like lulling the soul into a new life, escaping the hustle and bustle, the pressure of everyday life. There, you will be able to welcome the "First rays of sunlight" with the morning mist gradually opening the shadow of a "Temple in the mist", to listen to the "Prayer" with the wish for peace for all things in this universe will bring you into a peaceful life in "House on the Prairie" and there is also the "Dance of the Fireflies" simple, dreamy and poetic.

In this MV, Meritorious Artist Duong Thuy Anh impresses with her own unique personality with the erhu, sometimes hidden, sometimes appearing, sometimes very typical of the Vietnamese soul through the folk melodies of Cheo, Xam, and the folk songs on the Huong River... and then suddenly like the lyrics resounding in the cathedral, or sometimes the strange, emotional melody makes us feel like we are standing in front of a classical orchestra.

The MV “Crossing the Forest” was organized and produced by director Hai Le Cao. The male director said: “The MV was made in a primeval forest in Ta Xua - Son La. Although having to walk to approach the forest and make the MV, Ms. Thuy Anh and the crew members had to try very hard. This is also the first MV and the first artist to be made in this primeval forest. Every angle, setting or artistic effect, I carefully considered to both honor the artist, the instrument and express the message of the song and the music. The difficulties in the production process seemed to disappear when artist Thuy Anh was adventurous and immersed in every note with the erhu. It can be said that the spirit of the artist is the strength and the center of attraction of this MV”.

The MV tells a story through music led by Thuy Anh with her erhu. "Crossing the Forest" is like a message to the listener: "Difficulties are always ahead, but we will overcome them together with effort, striving to conquer ourselves, and then right in those hardships and challenges, beauty will open up for us to discover and receive the special gift that the Creator bestows upon humanity."
A "unique and strange" Thuy Anh is passionate about the erhu and transforms in the forest on the "green grassland". |
These are also the feelings and words of gratitude that Meritorious Artist Duong Thuy Anh sends to the precious people who have accompanied, supported and followed her throughout her 40-year journey of shining with passion for the erhu and dedicating herself to the national musical instrument.
