The exam attracted the participation of up to 490 martial arts students.

The exam aims to standardize the movement, develop the coaching team and nurture the next generation of athletes for the capital's top sports .

On November 9, 490 martial artists, including 341 1st-degree, 126 2nd-degree, and 23 3rd-degree contestants from Taekwondo clubs participated in technical, sparring, and physical tests. The exam was organized in the form of an online scoring test according to the national digital transformation process of the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Hanoi Taekwondo Federation Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that the competition was organized in a systematic and professional manner, contributing to helping coaches and martial artists become more aware of their responsibilities, discipline, and martial arts spirit. "It is important to let the movement develop from a technical and organizational foundation," Mr. Hung emphasized.

For coaches, the exam is also an opportunity to update new competition rules, first aid, nutrition, and digital transformation in training - skills that are increasingly important in modern sports.

Currently, the Hanoi Taekwondo Federation manages 98 training points and 68 clubs with about 12,000 people regularly practicing Taekwondo, aiming to expand to communes and wards without clubs. To do that, Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung proposed that instead of waiting for 4th dan to be allowed to teach, martial artists with 2nd or 3rd dan can be allowed to take on the role of instructors.

According to Mr. Ho Anh Tuan, Head of Taekwondo Department - Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center, Vice President and General Secretary of Hanoi Taekwondo Federation, the annual promotion exams help the Federation grasp the quality of the movement, thereby discovering outstanding factors for training and improvement.

With a clear goal of striving to win a gold medal at the SEA Games and 2 to 3 gold medals at the 2026 National Sports Festival, Hanoi Taekwondo strives to continue to maintain its position in the leading group of Vietnamese Taekwondo with Ho Chi Minh City.
