The Red River - Lao Cai Festival 2025 has important political, diplomatic, economic and cultural significance. Thereby, it will create a driving force to promote economic growth, expand cooperation and foreign relations between Lao Cai, the Red River basin provinces of Vietnam and Yunnan province, China. The event affirms Lao Cai's strategic position in the region, closely linked to the historical and cultural flow of the Red River civilization...

According to Mr. Nong Viet Yen, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province, Lao Cai is the gateway to the country, the upper source of the Red River - the mother river associated with the history of the formation and development of the civilizations of the ancient Vietnamese people. With a total length of 510 km flowing through the territory of Vietnam.
The red alluvial Red River contributed significantly to the formation of fertile fields in all the provinces of the Red River basin before flowing into the East Sea and forming the brilliant Red River civilization.
However, over the past decades, very few activities related to the Red River have been successfully organized and created a big buzz. Therefore, Lao Cai province has built and issued the Red River Festival Project for the period 2025-2035 .
The project is of great significance, honoring the historical values and cultures and civilizations of the Red River basin. Strengthening the education of the nation's tradition of remembering its source when drinking water. Promoting the connection of socio-economic development and foreign relations between Lao Cai, the provinces of the Red River basin of Vietnam and Yunnan province - China.
