95 authors won the first National Buddhist Journalism Award

On the afternoon of June 6, 95 authors with 33 works were honored at the 2024 National Buddhist Journalism Awards ceremony. At the ceremony, the Central Information and Communications Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha launched the 2025 Buddhist Journalism Awards.

From 534 finalists, the organizing committee awarded 33 prizes for 5 journalism categories, including 8 print journalism awards, 6 online journalism awards, 6 radio awards, 9 television awards and 4 photojournalism awards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Gia Quang, Head of the Central Information and Communications Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said that many of the entries were of high quality, imbued with the spirit of the times and the spirit of Buddhism , honestly reflecting the spirit of compassion and wisdom of Buddhism and its connection with social life. Many entries opened up new, creative and profound perspectives, including:

First Prize in the print category was awarded to the work "To attach religion to life" by the authors of the Thoi Nay publication of Nhan Dan newspaper .

The first prize in the electronic newspaper category was awarded to the work "Buddhism accompanies the community" creating miracles in life by a group of authors from Vietnamplus newspaper.

The first prize in the television category was awarded to the work "General Vo Nguyen Giap and Buddhism" by a group of authors from Bchannel - BTV9 An Vien.

The Special Prize was awarded to the series "Sacred Buddha Realm" by a group of authors from Nghe An Radio and Television Station.

At the ceremony, the organizing committee also launched the 2025 Buddhist Journalism Award to honor and promptly encourage reporters and journalists to continue to strive to produce quality journalistic works, bringing positive values ​​to society, contributing to the promotion of the Buddhist lifestyle of "Good Religion - Beautiful Life"; being a bridge connecting the application of Buddhism into life, applying the Buddha 's teachings in all areas of social life.

Entries must be published or broadcast from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 on licensed press publications. The Organizing Committee will accept entries from June 6, 2025 to January 5, 2026. The awards are expected to be presented in June 2026.

The contest content focuses on promoting a healthy and peaceful lifestyle in the spirit of Buddhism. Topics may include stories about the lives and work of monks, nuns, and Buddhists, lessons from Buddhist scriptures that truly and deeply reflect Buddhist life, Buddhist activities, and the values ​​of compassion, wisdom, and service in Buddhism .

Regarding the award structure, there are 5 individual awards: special prize, first prize, second prize, third prize and consolation prize awarded to 5 types of journalism: print newspaper, electronic newspaper, audio newspaper, television newspaper and photo newspaper.
