Earlier, on the afternoon of April 23, thunderstorms and strong winds occurred in A Luoi district. At A Luoi Meteorological Station, the highest wind speed was measured at 26m/s (level 10) at 2:00 p.m. the same day.
The tornado blew off the roofs of 27 houses and 1 school in the district. Of which, Hong Thuong commune had 8 houses and 1 school; Son Thuy had 19 houses with their roofs blown off, with damage of less than 30%. According to the A Luoi district government, immediately after the tornado occurred, local authorities mobilized forces to help people overcome the consequences. Currently, Hong Thuong commune has repaired 6/8 houses; Son Thuy commune has repaired 17/19 houses with their roofs blown off. The repair work is expected to be completed by April 26.
In addition to the damage to houses, the whirlwind also caused 50 hectares of forestry trees in the district to fall and 5 hectares of crops to be damaged, with losses of less than 30%. The damage was mainly concentrated in Son Thuy and Hong Thuong communes. Plant restoration work is currently underway.

According to the forecast of the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station, in the afternoon and evening of April 24-26, 2025, thunderstorms will continue to occur in A Luoi district. Beware of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
The Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, the City's Hydrometeorological Station, and the Smart City Operations Center regularly monitor and update natural disaster developments on mass media so that people can proactively respond.
