Career opportunities in retail
Vietnam is considered one of the most dynamic and potential retail markets in the region, with an estimated size of about 270-280 billion USD in 2025 and expected to almost double by 2030. However, modern retail only accounts for about 12-15% of the total retail market, showing that there is still a lot of room for development, leading to a high demand for human resources to meet consumer needs.

Human resources in the retail industry also face significant challenges. The retail industry requires high work intensity, diverse skills and a dedicated service spirit, making work in this field often considered “hard”. In that context, AEON Vietnam wishes to gradually change the perception of “retail profession” with a comprehensive development journey, where each employee is educated, trained and has a clear career path.
Human development strategy
AEON has identified Vietnam as a key strategic market alongside Japan, with the goal of tripling its current size by 2030. This expansion strategy not only demonstrates a commitment to long-term investment, but also creates thousands of promotion opportunities for internal staff and career opportunities for external candidates.
Along with the expansion, AEON Vietnam focuses on investing heavily in the human factor, considering it the core foundation to achieve business goals. Although technology is increasingly playing an important supporting role in the retail industry, the factor that makes the difference in the customer experience still comes from the dedicated attitude and sincere service spirit of each AEON individual. This is also the foundation that helps AEON maintain a solid position in the hearts of consumers and in the retail market over the years.
Personnel training - raising the bar for retail sales
AEON Vietnam always considers "training as the greatest and most sustainable benefit" for all employees, helping employees to be equipped with the knowledge, skills and mindset necessary to develop a sustainable career.
At AEON Vietnam, employees can participate in training programs for the retail industry, notably Retail Trainee or MD Training. The company also implements training courses to improve management capacity for each level, and regularly creates conditions for employees to learn and connect with experts in the region.

In particular, to encourage the spirit of self-study and personal development, AEON Vietnam applies a policy of sponsoring 50% of tuition fees for external training courses. Along with that are Career Navigator/Coach programs for both internal employees and external candidates, helping participants explore their abilities, career trends and receive advice on choosing a suitable development path.
Mr. Pham Thanh Tung - Director of AEON Binh Duong New City General Merchandise Center & Lean Supermarket - shared: “In 2021, Tung was fortunate to be nominated by the company to attend the course “Professional Coaching and Consulting for Leaders”. In particular, the cost is fully supported according to the company's policy. When the company invested in his personal development path, Tung also strived every day to respond to that trust”.
By investing long-term in people, AEON Vietnam not only creates a solid workforce for the retail industry, but also creates a happy working environment - where each talent is "nurtured individually" and "shine in their career".
