Alcaraz wins Rome Masters 2025: 'Little Nadal's' top performance

Carlos Alcaraz made Jannik Sinner's comeback incomplete after winning 2-0 (7-6, 6-1) in the final of the ATP 1000 Rome Masters 2025 tennis tournament (Italy).

This is the 11th match between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner on Tour. The world No. 3 entered Rome this year with not yet fully recovered. Meanwhile, the world No. 1 has just picked up a racket to compete professionally after a 3-month ban but is regaining his best form and receiving enthusiastic support from the home crowd.

Both players had a poor start in the first set but they both held their serves. Tied at 6-6 in the first set, both players entered the tie-break. Alcaraz was the one who played well in this nerve-wracking series and thereby overcame Sinner with a score of 7-5 to win the first set.
