Due to the impact of natural disasters in 2023, the level 4 house of Mr. Mua A Cho's family in Dan To village was suddenly flooded with mud and soil from the hillside behind the house, causing cracks in the two walls of the house, extending from the foot of the wall to near the roof, posing a very high risk of insecurity. After many months of living at his parents' house, Mr. Cho's family has now received attention from the local Party Committee and government, granting them a plot of land of nearly 300 square meters at the emergency evacuation site in Dan To area. At the same time, they have supported 30 million VND for his family to rebuild a new house. Mr. Cho confided: "Thanks to the help of the local government, relatives and neighbors, I have built a spacious and solid wooden house. This rainy season, my family no longer has to worry about rain, wind and landslides like before. Moreover, the new place has enough electricity, water, and better roads, so traveling and trading are much more convenient."
While rebuilding a wooden house with everyone on land provided by the State, Mr. Mua A Sinh in Nam Mo village happily shared with us that due to the impact of natural disasters since 2023, his family's wooden house is located in a very high landslide area. Therefore, every time there is heavy rain or strong wind, the 4 family members are worried and anxious and have to stay at the village cultural house. However, with timely and dedicated help from all levels, his family has now been relocated to a new place with better and safer living conditions; especially, they can rest assured to do business and take care of their children's education.

Households in areas at risk of landslides due to natural disasters in Ta Mung commune urgently build new houses.

Mr. Cho and Mr. Sinh's families are 2 of 18 households with 107 people in the villages of Dan To, Tu San, Ho Ta, Nam Mo, located in the high-risk landslide area due to the impact of natural disasters in 2023. In that situation, the Party Committee and the government of Ta Mung commune made a request to the district for urgent relocation support. In addition to receiving 30 million VND from the State, 18 households in the above villages were also supported with road construction, electricity, water and land handover, each household nearly 300m2. Up to this point, 14 households have completed their houses, the remaining households are making efforts to build their houses with the goal of completing them by the end of May.
Mr. Sung A Sa - Vice Chairman of Ta Mung Commune People's Committee said: "Based on practical needs, Dan To village was chosen as the location for households in areas at risk of landslides due to natural disasters who had to urgently relocate to live. Because this place is convenient for building infrastructure as well as ensuring conditions for people to easily adapt. Therefore, most households when relocating here have gradually become familiar with the environment here."
It is known that before arranging households in areas at risk of landslides due to natural disasters to live at the emergency relocation site in Dan To area, the district's specialized departments and offices; Ta Mung commune's Party Committee and government organized many propaganda sessions to help people understand clearly. At the same time, actively help households subject to relocation and agree to carry out site clearance to deploy construction works to serve the arrangement of residents affected by natural disasters. In addition, direct contractors and construction units to focus human resources and machinery to ensure progress according to the set plan.
The family of Giang A Chang in Nam Mo village was one of the earliest households to move to the emergency evacuation site in Dan To area. When they first arrived, his family was hesitant because they were used to living in their old house, even though they knew it was unsafe for people and property during the rainy season. However, with the support of the local Party Committee and government, his family took advantage of the wood from their old house to bring to the resettlement area to build a new house. Mr. Chang shared: “We are very excited to have the State create conditions for our family to move to a new place. Now that our house is stable, my wife and I will focus on developing the economy and building a prosperous life.”
With the efforts of authorities at all levels and the spirit of overcoming difficulties of the people, new houses for households in areas at risk of landslides due to natural disasters have been and are being built. Thereby, gradually helping people to soon "settle down" and stabilize their lives.
