An Giang prepares two major events on trade and investment promotion

These are two major events, of great significance in expanding the market, connecting investment and promoting the image of An Giang province in the new development stage. The content was informed by the Standing Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong at the press conference on October 7.

Two big events are about to take place to connect investment and promote the image of An Giang province .

Mr. Phong said that according to the plan, the conference to promote trade and boost import and export in the Southern region will take place on the afternoon of October 17 in Tinh Bien ward, An Giang province in both direct and online formats. It is expected that about 250 delegates will attend, including representatives of ministries, branches, localities, businesses in the Southern region and partners from Cambodia.

With the theme “Enhancing production, trade, service and investment connections with Cambodian partners”, the conference is expected to be a forum for substantive cooperation between businesses of the two countries, thereby enhancing import and export activities across the Southwest border, promoting the connection between the Mekong Delta and Cambodia. In addition to the main conference content, the program also has an exhibition area of typical products of the provinces and cities in the Southern region, introducing industrial products, trade, consumer goods, agricultural products with export potential and typical OCOP products.

Regarding the preparation for the above two important events, Nguyen Thanh Phong, Standing Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, said that the above two events are great opportunities for An Giang to promote its image, expand cooperation and attract investment. He requested the provincial investment, trade and tourism promotion center to complete a detailed organization plan and coordinate closely with relevant units and localities. Discuss with the Ministry of Industry and Trade about the program and content of the conference to ensure quality, efficiency and high connectivity.

Regarding participation in the Autumn Fair, Mr. Phong suggested that an organizing committee be established soon to provide unified direction and management. Strictly follow the regulations on procedures and participation content; promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee if there are any difficulties or problems during the implementation process.

"The organization of the above two events not only demonstrates An Giang's spirit of proactive integration and development, but also contributes significantly to promoting border trade activities, expanding export markets, creating momentum for local enterprises to improve their competitiveness and affirm their brands in the domestic and international markets," the Standing Vice Chairman of An Giang province emphasized.

Many OCOP An Giang products are on e-commerce platforms.

At the press conference, Mr. Quang Xuan Lua - Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of An Giang province said that the unit is closely coordinating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the provinces and cities in the region to complete the content and working program. The Center also reviewed the infrastructure, travel conditions, accommodation and logistics plans, ensuring the best service for domestic and international delegates attending.

In parallel with the conference organization, An Giang is also actively preparing its forces to participate in the 2025 Autumn Fair chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, taking place from October 26 to November 4, at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh Ward, Hanoi).

“Up to now, 6 An Giang enterprises have registered to participate in the province’s common booth at the fair. An Giang will focus on displaying and promoting key products such as high-quality rice, seafood, garments, handicrafts, and potential export consumer goods.

In addition, the province will also introduce cultural and tourism images, investment cooperation potential, especially outstanding tourist areas and destinations such as Sam Mountain, Cam Mountain, Tra Su forest and traditional craft villages with local identity," Mr. Quang Xuan Lua informed.
