In December 2024, the People's Committee of An Phu district started construction of the project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in An Phu district (according to the Program of the whole country joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses). With high determination, the district has strongly implemented the program to contribute to improving the quality of life for people, especially poor households, near-poor households and policy families.
Chairman of An Phu District People's Committee Trang Cong Cuong said that after reviewing (according to the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses), the total number of households approved for housing support in An Phu district is 551, including: 147 households with meritorious people (group 1), 404 poor and near-poor households (group 3). In the context of limited budget conditions and urgent implementation time, An Phu district has completed on schedule and achieved 100% of the assigned target, supporting 551 houses for meritorious people, poor and near-poor households. Of which, many households, although not eligible under the new regulations, are still supported through social mobilization and contributions from the people.
Handing over houses from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Khanh An commune
One of the localities that has implemented the program well is the border commune of Khanh An. Implementing the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025, with a spirit of solidarity and high responsibility, Khanh An commune has built and completed 27 houses, with a total cost of nearly 1.6 billion VND. Of which, 7 houses are for policy households and 20 houses for poor and near-poor households. All newly built and repaired houses are guaranteed to be sturdy, have hygienic toilets, safe sliding doors, etc.
