Kite spotted flying as plane prepares to land at Noi Bai International Airport

At 14:56 on June 10, the crew of flight AXM512 from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi discovered 3 kites flying near the beginning of the runway, right when the plane was preparing to land at Noi Bai International Airport.

Authorities conduct field inspections in Bac Gia village (Phu Lo commune, Soc Son district, Hanoi ).

Immediately upon receiving information from the flight crew via the Air Traffic Control Tower, the Noi Bai International Airport Emergency Command Center promptly notified the relevant authorities for timely handling. The Noi Bai Police Station coordinated with the communes near the eastern end of the runway and the aviation security forces to conduct a field inspection.

In Bac Gia village (Phu Lo commune, Soc Son district, Hanoi), the authorities discovered 4 children flying kites. The authorities confiscated 3 kites, the children and their guardians were warned and a report was made, and awareness was raised to comply with regulations on aviation safety corridors.

Previously, Noi Bai International Airport coordinated with the Northern Airport Authority to request the authorities of communes bordering the airport to increase propaganda and control the acts of flying kites, balloons, sky lanterns, flycams, etc. near the airport area.

Currently, it is the time when students are on summer vacation, the risk of activities such as kite flying and balloon releasing near the airport is increasing. Noi Bai International Airport requests local authorities to increase propaganda - inspection - coordination, to ensure absolute safety for each flight.
