Impressions of Vietnam Cultural Festival

On March 29, the Vietnam - Japan Cultural Festival and Youth Day 2024 took place at Dong A University ( Da Nang ). The event was organized with many unique cultural exchange activities, attracting more than 4,000 participants.

The festival vividly recreates the Vietnamese - Japanese cultural space, with impressive performances by artists from the Japanese art troupe and students from Dong A University.

At the opening session, students attending the festival explored Japan through 6 interesting topics about cultural experiences, Japanese music and working skills in the Japanese business environment. Specific sharing about traditional Japanese culture and how to experience it; traditional Japanese music and why music helps rejuvenate the soul...

The festival also organized folk games imbued with Vietnamese - Japanese traditions such as bamboo jumping, rope jumping, mandarin squares, sudoku puzzles; flash mob contest with 50 competing teams; elaborate cosplay character costumes with the participation of more than 100 Japanese students, artists and young people who love Japanese culture in Da Nang.

Along with that are 14 booths introducing Vietnamese - Japanese culinary culture; recreating the unique Japanese Nagashi Somen Bamboo Noodle Festival space.

Vietnam - Japan art program with lively singing and dancing performances from talented high school students and Japanese art troupe.

The most impressive part is the colorful and graceful reenactment of the sweet wedding scene of Princess Ngoc Hoa (Anio) and merchant Araki Sotaro in the 16th century, thereby helping young people learn more about the "fate" that binds the strong relationship between Vietnam and Japan.

Speaking at the opening session, Mr. Shimonishi Kiyoshi, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, said that the Vietnam - Japan cultural festival is a very meaningful event, helping to improve Japanese language skills through understanding Japanese culture.

Mr. Shimonishi Kiyoshi expressed his joy that more and more Vietnamese students are studying Japanese, including many students studying Japanese at Dong A University. He hopes that these students will become a "bridge" for the relationship between Japan and Vietnam in the future.
