On January 7, according to information from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07) of Ho Chi Minh City Police, in the afternoon of the same day, at the headquarters of PC07, a ceremony was held to announce and hand over the decision to transfer and appoint the position of deputy head of PC07 to Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh - deputy head of the fire prevention and rescue team.

Major General Nguyen Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police - chaired the announcement ceremony.

Attending the announcement ceremony were Colonel Huynh Quang Tam - Head of PC07 Department, the department's command board, the command boards of the teams and officers and soldiers of PC07 Department.

At the ceremony, the representative of the Personnel Department announced the decision of the Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department on the transfer and appointment of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Thanh Huong congratulated Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh and asked him to quickly approach the job, constantly cultivate and practice revolutionary ethics, uphold the role and responsibility of a leader, proactively do a good job of advising and directing the effective implementation of assigned tasks.

Continue to promote political mettle, capacity and working experience, together with the Party Committee and leaders of Department PC07 to maintain internal solidarity, build a clean and strong unit, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.

In his congratulatory speech to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh, Colonel Huynh Quang Tam assessed Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh as a capable, experienced, brave and courageous commander. Colonel Huynh Quang Tam hopes that with his new role, position and task, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh will continue to cultivate ethics, together with the Party Committee of the command department, to successfully carry out the unit's duties and tasks in fire prevention and fighting and rescue work.

Receiving the instructions of the Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police and the Head of PC07 Department, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh expressed his deep gratitude for the attention and trust of the Party Committee and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Police.

Mr. Thanh promised to continue to improve his knowledge and professional qualifications, together with the Party Committee and leaders of the unit, strive to excellently complete all assigned tasks, do a good job of directing and effectively implementing fire prevention and fighting and rescue work, contributing to ensuring security and order in Ho Chi Minh City.

In June 2023, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh was awarded the noble title of Hero of the People's Armed Forcesby the President .

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Chi Thanh (43 years old, from Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province) has worked in the industry since February 2001 and has been awarded the title of Advanced Soldier and Emulation Soldier at the grassroots level for many consecutive years.

During his more than 20 years of service, Lieutenant Colonel Thanh has participated in many rescue missions in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces across the country. Notably, when Türkiye was hit by an earthquake, Lieutenant Colonel Thanh was one of 24 officers and soldiers of the Ministry of Public Security who went to help the neighboring country overcome the consequences of the disaster.
