Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, 8th term - has been elected as President of the Vietnam Youth Union, 9th term, 2024-2029 term.

At the first meeting of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term IX, 2024 - 2029, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term VIII - was elected as President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term IX, 2024 - 2029.

Association officials must sacrifice, not enjoy

Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam quickly responded to information after the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union about the responsibility of the Union's officials to sacrifice.

The new President said that the Vietnam Youth Union and its officials all have very special feelings for each other.

"In the previous term, I was appointed as the permanent vice president, then after a while I had to say goodbye to the Association. I think that being trusted and recommended by my seniors to be the president of the Association, not only me but also all 135 seniors in the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union had very special and honorable feelings. Honored because we were the ones chosen to continue writing the Association's history.

Besides, the responsibility is also very big. This is a new era, the General Secretary has raised issues related to youth such as issues of morality, youth lifestyle, issues of association cadres, especially at the grassroots level, issues with whether the association's activities are substantial or not. The whole story of association activities has not really been expanded," he said.

"From these issues, the expectations of the Party and State leaders placed on all Association officials, including me, to think hard about how to find a radical solution," said Mr. Lam.
