On July 4, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee signed a decision to award a certificate of merit to Mr. Tran Van Nghia (residing in Chu Se commune) for his special achievements in rescuing two children trapped on the Ba River.

Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Nghia was using a drone to spray pesticides on a sweet potato field near Ben Mong bridge, Ia Tul commune, when he heard a cry for help.

When he arrived at the bank of the Ba River, he saw three children herding cows isolated in the middle of an alluvial plain about 50 meters from the shore. Flood water from upstream poured in, turbid, flowing rapidly, rising in 5 minutes.

Two children after being rescued

Mr. Nghia used a DJI T50 agricultural drone (capable of pulling 50 kg) to rescue the person. He flew the drone carrying a rope. When the drone approached, two children (male and female, both 12 years old) took turns putting the rope through their bodies so that the device could pull them to shore. Each rescue took a few minutes. When it came to the third nephew, the family boat was able to approach and bring him to shore.
