Apple has just released the iOS 26.1 Beta 2 update with many small but interesting changes, especially the "slide to stop alarm" feature - reminiscent of the legendary "Slide to Unlock" action that appeared on the first iPhone in 2007.
The update is now available to users enrolled in the iOS Beta Testing Program. You can install it by going to Settings > General > Software Update , then following the instructions to upgrade to the latest version.

Liquid Glass effect is streamlined and easier to see
The first thing users will notice is that Apple has slightly tweaked the controversial Liquid Glass effect on the home screen, keyboard, and lock screen. If you find this effect tiring on your eyes, you can reduce it by going to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Reduce Transparency to blur the background , making buttons and icons clearer.

iOS 26 Beta 7: iPhones get warned when performance drops
“Slide to stop alarm” – back and better than ever
One of the highlights of iOS 26.1 Beta 2 is the “Slide to Stop” alarm feature. When the alarm goes off, instead of fumbling around for the “Stop” button, users can simply slide to mute the sound.
Not only convenient, this sliding effect also reminds many long-time users of “Slide to Unlock” – the typical unlocking action of the first generation iPhone before being removed in iOS 10 in 2016.
Along with that, the update also includes a number of bug fixes and overall performance improvements, making the device run smoother. The stable version of iOS 26.1 is expected to be released on October 27, and Beta users can switch back to the official version without losing data.
iOS 26.4 Beta will be a milestone worth waiting for
However, many users choose to continue staying in the Beta program to wait for iOS 26.4 - the version expected to be released next spring with the appearance of "Personal Siri".
This feature will allow Siri to access messages, calendars, emails, and other apps to provide intelligent responses, predict daily routines, and even proactively suggest setting alarms or assisting with tasks the user is performing on the iPhone.
With successive improvements in the iOS 26 series, Apple clearly shows its strategy of combining convenience, nostalgia and artificial intelligence, bringing the iPhone user experience to a new level - both familiar and modern.
