Apple continues to dominate the global tablet market

According to GSMArena , the global tablet market in 2024 has seen impressive growth, with Apple continuing to lead in market share.

According to the latest report from Canalys, global tablet shipments increased by 9% in 2024, reaching 147.6 million units. The fourth quarter of 2024 also recorded positive growth with 39.9 million units shipped, up 5.6% year-on-year.

Apple continued to assert its leading position with 56.9 million tablets sold, accounting for 38.6% of the global market share. Meanwhile, Samsung followed closely in second place with 27.8 million units and 18.8% market share. And Huawei was the third name with 10.4 million units and 7.3% market share.

Lenovo and Xiaomi took the remaining two spots in the top 5, respectively. Notably, Xiaomi saw an impressive growth of 73.1% compared to 2023, enough to surpass Amazon and its Fire tablet line.

Canalys analysts say the global PC market refresh cycle has had a positive impact on tablet demand, with enterprise tablet demand expected to continue growing through 2025, while consumer growth is likely to slow.
