

The ATK Cho Don Special Historical Relic Complex includes 25 relic sites, of which 6 relics are ranked at the national level including Ban Ca, Na Quan (Binh Trung commune); Na Pau, Khau Ma hill (Luong Bang commune); Khuoi Linh, Pu Co hill (Nghia Ta commune). In addition, the district also has 21 relics ranked at the provincial level, of which 02 are historical, cultural and religious relics serving the people; 13 relics have been inventoried but not ranked.

During the long resistance war against the French colonialists, along with Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang, Cho Don district was chosen by the Party Central Committee and Uncle Ho as an ATK. From 1947 to 1951, Uncle Ho lived and worked in Ban Ca, Na Quan (Binh Trung commune), and Na Pau (Luong Bang commune).
ATK Cho Don was also a place to ensure safety for central agencies and leaders such as comrade Truong Chinh, General Secretary of the Party Central Committee in Khuoi Linh (Nghia Ta commune); Prime Minister Pham Van Dong in Khau Ma hill (Luong Bang commune); Na Quan hamlet (Binh Trung commune) was chosen as the location for the Party Central Committee's conference hall from 1947 to 1952, where the Border Campaign summary conference took place.
During the period from 1946 to 1954, most of the Central agencies were located in Cho Don district such as: Truth Newspaper, Voice of Vietnam Radio Station , Radio Agency, Military Technical Department, Military Political School, Military Weapons Factory, National Salvation Newspaper Printing Factory, Military Medical Surgery Station; Money Printing Factory under the Ministry of Finance...

On December 22, 2016, the Prime Minister issued a Decision recognizing ATK Cho Don as a Special National Monument. This is a great pride of the people of Bac Kan, affirming the great historical significance of this land. By 2023, the Plan for conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the relic has been approved, opening up opportunities to preserve and promote the historical values of ATK in tourism development.

To promote and protect the ATK historical relics, Cho Don district has issued many leadership and direction documents, notably the Project "Management and promotion of the value of relics and cultural heritage associated with tourism development in Cho Don district in the period of 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030". To implement the Project, the District People's Committee has assigned specific tasks to each agency and unit of the district to implement. By 2022, from socialized funds, the district has invested more than 3 billion VND to build access points to the revolutionary historical relic of Pu Co Hill - Nghia Ta commune, Ban Ca relic, Binh Trung commune, historical and cultural relic of Phja Khao Temple, Ban Thi commune...

Combining the preservation of relics and the promotion of cultural heritage values, ATK Cho Don not only provides profound historical lessons but also opens up unique experience opportunities for visitors.

Coming to Cho Don, visitors will be immersed in the unique cultural space of ATK night market - a place where traditional flavors converge. Here, small and pretty stalls sell local specialties such as Bang Phuc leaf-fermented wine, humped Chung cakes, black Chung cakes, or exquisite handicrafts made by the local people. Then singing, Tinh lute, and bowl dancing blend together in the sparkling lights, creating a bustling and warm atmosphere, bringing visitors back to the rustic beauty of the mountains and forests.
