In Dong Thap province , three sisters drowned while swimming in a river in Cao Lanh district. Authorities have only recovered the bodies of two of them; the youngest girl is still missing.
On the afternoon of May 28th, Ngo Nguyen Ngoc Huong, 13 years old, and her two younger sisters (aged 7-9) were swimming in the Ba Du River in My Hiep commune.
When the children didn't return home after a long time, their family went to the river to look for them. Many people searched the river and discovered that the two children had died.

According to the family, the three sisters attended their end-of-year school ceremony yesterday, so they went swimming in the river today. As of 6:30 PM, rescue teams and the Dong Thap Provincial Police are still searching for the missing girl.
Recently, there have been frequent drowning incidents involving children. Three days ago, three sisters in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City ( Binh Thuan province ) died in a pond in the field behind their house. More than a week ago, four girls swimming in the Song Quao irrigation canal also drowned.
