According to the special correspondent of VNA, on the evening of June 11 (local time), right after arriving in the capital Stockholm to begin an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife had a friendly meeting with officials, staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Sweden.
Also attending were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; ministers, leaders of ministries, branches and localities.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Sweden Tran Van Tuan and Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Sweden Le Son Ha, the Vietnamese community in Sweden currently has about 22,000 people, always united, law-abiding and increasingly integrated into the local society; at the same time always looking towards and contributing to building the homeland of Vietnam.
Many Vietnamese people in Sweden are successful in many fields, both in business and scientific research. The Vietnamese community in Sweden has established associations, trade associations; associations of science and technology experts; business associations; and associations of Vietnamese people in localities in Sweden.
At the meeting, the people proposed that the Prime Minister direct ministries, branches and agencies to create conditions for them to regain Vietnamese nationality; create conditions for the Vietnamese community in Sweden to enjoy the unique cultural and artistic values of the nation; work with the Swedish side to open a direct flight between Vietnam and Sweden...
Many Vietnamese experts and scientists holding important positions in Swedish agencies and enterprises have expressed their willingness to share, support and implement scientific and technological projects in Vietnam, especially in the fields of medicine, nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, etc.
Experts and scientists proposed that the Party and State create conditions and solutions to connect Vietnamese science and technology experts in Sweden with those in the country; create conditions for experts and scientists to carry out science and technology transfer in the country; allow projects and research works of Vietnamese people in other countries in Vietnam to enjoy preferential policies; reduce and simplify procedures, processes and standards so that scientists and scientific works of Vietnamese people abroad can easily conduct scientific activities in the country...
After sharing with Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and ministers, answering suggestions and sharing from the Vietnamese community in Sweden, speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his emotion at the sentiments of the Vietnamese community in Sweden, especially the love for the homeland that comes from the bottom of their hearts.
Conveying the greetings and best wishes of health from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the entire Vietnamese community in Sweden, the Prime Minister expressed his excitement that the community is growing stronger, more successful, and more united, with many people holding positions and having in-depth knowledge in important sectors not only in Sweden and Vietnam but also around the world.
Affirming that the Vietnamese community abroad is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese ethnic community, the Prime Minister hopes that people will show their love for their homeland; take care of themselves, their families, and their close friends. The Prime Minister believes that people caring for the local community is also loving the country; whoever has the conditions, wherever they go, should contribute to building the country; all contributions are very valuable.
Regarding Vietnam-Sweden relations, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Sweden was the first Western country to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, and was also the Western country with the strongest and earliest movement to support Vietnam's resistance war against the US to save the country.
During the period of renovation and national construction, Sweden has always provided Vietnam with valuable material and spiritual support. Many important works serving the people's lives built with Swedish assistance have long been vivid symbols of the close friendship between the two countries, such as the Swedish Children's Hospital and the Bai Bang Paper Mill.

With the friendship between Vietnam and Sweden, the Prime Minister hopes that people living, doing business, and working in Sweden, for Sweden, as well as working in Vietnam, for Vietnam; demonstrate Vietnam's sense of responsibility and gratitude towards the country and people of Sweden.
Providing information about the process of overcoming all difficulties, the country's development strategies and outstanding achievements of Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam develops the country based on three pillars: building socialist democracy; a socialist rule-of-law state; and a socialist-oriented market economy under the management of the State.
Currently, the whole country is urgently carrying out a "revolution" in the arrangement of the apparatus and organization of the two-level government, shifting from a passive state of receiving to a creative and proactive state of serving the people and businesses; implementing the "four pillars" of Resolutions on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation; innovating the work of law making and enforcement; international integration in the new situation; developing the private economy...
The Prime Minister said that Vietnam aims to become a developing country with high average income by 2030 and a developed country with high income by 2045; hopes that people will continue to contribute to building the homeland; affirming that the Party and State always cherish and value the contributions of the overseas Vietnamese community.
Recently, many policies related to overseas Vietnamese have been improved, opened up, and created more favorable conditions for them, such as policies on land, home ownership, visas, nationality, labor, etc.
Responding to the sharing, suggestions and recommendations of the people, the Prime Minister asked the Vietnamese community in Sweden to continue to unite, unite and help each other; develop the community to become stronger and stronger; preserve and promote national culture; and foster the Vietnam-Sweden relationship to become increasingly deeper, more substantial and effective.
The Prime Minister requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden to act as a good bridge, promoting the development of the relationship between the two countries; In particular, it must take care of the Vietnamese community in Sweden, with the motto of considering them as family members; sharing whenever they encounter difficulties and misfortunes, with all the comradely love and compatriotic sentiment./.
