On May 13, Hai Ba Trung District Police, Hanoi announced that they had initiated a criminal case and prosecuted 5 people for illegally buying, selling, and storing drugs; seized 14 heroin cakes and more than 1 kg of synthetic drugs.
According to the investigation, at around 0:45 on March 27, at the intersection of Thanh Nhan - Kim Nguu streets, Thanh Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district, the working group of Hai Ba Trung district police inspected Phan Thu Hoai, born in 1990, residing in Gia Lam district, Hanoi, discovered and seized a cardboard box containing 891.16g of Ketamine. At the police station, Hoai confessed that she bought the drugs with the intention of reselling them for profit.
Expanding the investigation, Hai Ba Trung District Police arrested 4 more subjects: Tran Van Huy, born in 1987; Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, born in 1989; Tran Thi Chien, born in 1991, all residing in Bach Mai ward, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi and Do Duy Phong, born in 1987, residing in Quynh Loi ward, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi. The total amount of evidence seized in the case included 14 heroin cakes weighing 4.576 kg; 69.356 g of synthetic drug MDMA; 119.137 g of Methamphetamine, 1.034 kg of Ketamine.
Based on the investigation documents, the Hai Ba Trung District Police Department has decided to prosecute the case and prosecute Phan Thu Hoai, Tran Van Huy, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen for illegal drug trafficking; Tran Thi Chien for illegal drug possession; and Do Duy Phong for illegal drug possession and trafficking. The case is being further investigated and expanded.
