Ba Ria - Vung Tau : Government and businesses unite for sustainable development goals

On the afternoon of October 11, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held a meeting to celebrate and honor entrepreneurs and business owners who are investing in production and business, contributing to the socio -economic development of the province.

Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Bui Chi Thanh, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee attended the meeting.

The economy is changing for the better thanks to the contribution of businesses.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and districts, towns and cities.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, informed that despite many difficulties, in the first 9 months of 2024, the province had 13/14 economic and financial indicators growing compared to the same period and higher than the plan for the whole year of 2024. The economic growth rate has gradually increased, the result of GRDP excluding crude oil and gas increased by 11.46%, the highest growth rate of the province in the past 10 years and currently ranks 4th in the country.

The fields of culture, sports, health,education , science and technology, information and communication, etc. have all been fully and promptly implemented, contributing to improving the quality of people's lives.

In particular, Ba Ria - Vung Tau continues to be an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors. In the first 9 months of 2024, the province had 1,417 newly established enterprises, an increase of 10.35% over the same period; with a total registered capital of VND 15,052 billion, an increase of 11.44% over the same period; 482 enterprises resumed operations. To date, the province has 21,202 domestic enterprises still registered to operate, of which 12,662 are actually operating.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assessed that the above results were achieved thanks to the significant contribution of the business community and enterprises of the province, which have been proactive, creative, and have overcome difficulties to rise up. "In the current process of socio-economic development and international integration, the team of businessmen and enterprises play an increasingly important role. The growth of the business community and the team of businessmen of the province in recent times has further affirmed the consensus between the Government and enterprises for the goal of integration and sustainable development," said the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, businesses and entrepreneurs expressed their trust and commitment to contribute to the stronger development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

Mr. Vo Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Madison Land Ho Tram Company Limited, also expressed his gratitude for the province's support and development support for real estate and tourism businesses in the past time. Currently, many businesses in this field are continuing to make efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges, so Mr. Chinh hopes to continue to receive the support and companionship of provincial leaders, businesses in the field of real estate and tourism to continue to turn Ba Ria - Vung Tau into an even more beautiful destination.

Mr. Tran Ho Bac, Deputy General Director of PTSC Petroleum Technical Services Joint Stock Company, expressed his gratitude because although the company is not headquartered in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it is still considered a "real citizen" by the provincial leaders and the company also considers Ba Ria - Vung Tau as its "hometown" throughout the 30 years of formation and development.

Mr. Bac shared that every day, every hour, PTSC's people and vehicles are working, promoting, and creating an international brand and have created proud achievements in Ba Ria - Vung Tau. Currently, the province has formed a system of ports, mechanical workshops that are operating effectively, and have successfully implemented hundreds of oil and gas projects for many domestic and foreign customers. Many products, services, components, and oil and gas and energy projects have been shipped "made in Ba Ria - Vung Tau".

Currently, PTSC has gradually participated in the field of offshore wind power and renewable energy as both a contractor and a potential investor. “PTSC believes that it will continue to conquer foreign customers and continue to bring the brand of products manufactured in the province to the world,” Mr. Tran Ho Bac expected.

Along with that, the Provincial Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Japanese Business Association in Ba Ria - Vung Tau signed a cooperation agreement on information exchange on: exchange, communication, organization of seminars, learning experiences; supply of human resources, services, products of each other; legal support.
