Heavy rain is about to hit the North, while the Central region continues to be severely hot.

On the morning of August 5, the weather in the North recorded a clear differentiation between regions. In Hanoi, the sky was cloudy but hot, the temperature at 6 am reached 29°C and is forecasted to reach 36°C at noon today.

In the mountainous areas of the North, the sky is cloudy but there is no rain yet. Meanwhile, in the plains and coastal areas, the sky is less cloudy, the weather is still hot and humid although the temperature has decreased compared to yesterday. It is forecasted that this afternoon and evening, the entire North (including the mountainous areas and plains) is likely to have widespread thunderstorms, accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning and strong gusts of wind after many days of prolonged heat.

Central region widespread heat

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the Central region, heat and severe heat continue to last, with many places recording temperatures exceeding 38°C, posing a high risk of forest fires.

In the South and Central Highlands, this morning is cloudy, especially in Dong Nai and Binh Thuan (old). However, during the day, the sky will clear up quickly, with little chance of rain, and the weather will be hot. In Ho Chi Minh City alone, the highest temperature ranges from 34-36°C.

Thunderstorms return to the North

On August 5, Hanoi will continue to be hot at noon and in the afternoon, with temperatures ranging from 26-36°C; in the evening there may be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.

In the Northwest region, at night, some places have temperatures below 25°C; during the day, some areas such as the South of Phu Tho province have temperatures above 36°C, then heavy rain in the evening.

The Northeast is also about to receive heavy rain, especially in the mountainous and midland areas. The Northern Delta region continues to be extremely hot before rain in the evening.

According to meteorological experts, from the night of August 5 to August 6, the North will continue to have showers and thunderstorms, with some areas in the mountains and midlands experiencing very heavy rain. However, from August 8 to 10, heat waves are likely to return on a large scale.
