Strengthening propaganda of laws on forest protection

Quan Hoa Forest Protection Department is assigned to manage and protect nearly 86,000 hectares of forest, including over 52,000 hectares of natural forest and over 33,000 hectares of planted forest. Identifying the work of propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on forest protection and development (FPD) as a top priority, the department has recently coordinated with local authorities to come up with many solutions to promote propaganda and dissemination of laws on FPD, forest product and wildlife management.

Deputy Head of Quan Hoa Forest Protection Department Le Van Son said: "In order to sustainably protect and develop forests, the unit directs local forest rangers to advise local authorities to consolidate propaganda teams in villages and hamlets; and at the same time compile propaganda materials suitable for each locality. Along with that, the department continues to coordinate with Party building committees, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations of communes to promote propaganda work on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, especially the Forestry Law 2017; Directive No. 13-CT/TW dated January 12, 2017 of the Central Party Secretariat; propaganda on large timber plantation techniques, conversion from small timber plantations to large timber plantations, technical processes for afforestation, restoration of bamboo forests... In order for the propaganda work to be truly effective, the department has directed forest ranger stations to consolidate and consolidate 107 village and hamlet forest protection propaganda teams, with 749 participants; Strengthen 105 mass teams, 15 militia platoons, and youth volunteer teams in the BVR in communes; replicate the "3 no" residential area models in the BVR in key communes.

Propaganda work is carried out in many diverse and rich forms, including increasing propaganda on loudspeakers and using cars and motorbikes for mobile propaganda, integrating through conferences in communes and villages. Propaganda content focuses on the Party and State's policies on forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting (PFC). Mobilizing people to participate in forest protection and fire prevention activities, effectively using forest resources, developing forestry economy , building demonstration models of intensive forest cultivation, voluntary cooperation and association in forest protection and fire prevention; not illegally exploiting or destroying forests, not assisting illegal forest exploitation, trading and transporting timber, not using hunting guns, traps, crossbows to hunt wild animals; not using indiscriminate fire in agricultural and forestry production; Strengthening the management of chainsaws to prevent illegal logging... As a result, from the beginning of 2025 to now, Quan Hoa Forest Protection Department has organized 167 propaganda conferences, with over 18,000 participants, broadcast on the loudspeaker system 1,030 times. In addition, the department has coordinated with the Fatherland Front and the Youth Union of communes to organize propaganda sessions for members and union members; organized forest protection conferences to listen to people's opinions related to BVR.

Along with that, the work of combating illegal logging, deforestation, trading, transporting, trading, and processing of forest products is regularly strengthened. Every month, the Quan Hoa District Forest Protection Department develops plans and coordinates with the police and military forces, Pu Hu and Pu Luong Nature Reserves, the Mobile Forest Protection and Forest Protection Team, and local authorities to strengthen forest security inspections in areas at risk of illegal logging, deforestation, forest encroachment, and bordering forest areas. Since the beginning of 2025, the unit has organized 320 inspections, with 1,225 participants, detected and handled 12 cases of violations of the Forestry Law; collected over 100 million VND for the State budget.

The outstanding result is that the entire existing forest area managed by Quan Hoa Forest Protection Department is protected safely and effectively, without any illegal deforestation or farming. Forest security in the area is stable, with no hot spots or prominent points; acts of encroachment on local forest resources are controlled and repelled, and no forest fires have occurred in recent years, contributing to increasing forest cover to 84.49%.
