Doctor vaccinates stroke patient in time at "golden moment"

On the morning of May 24, while performing her daily duties at the vaccination center, Dr. Dang Thi Trang received a request for emergency assistance for a person who suddenly fell into a coma and was unable to speak. The doctor immediately followed the family to the scene to assist.

With her professional expertise, the female doctor diagnosed that the patient had a high possibility of typical symptoms of a stroke and immediately treated him, called an ambulance, and took the patient to the nearby Van Hanh General Hospital for further treatment.

Not stopping there, Dr. Trang discussed the situation thoroughly with the doctors of Van Hanh General Hospital, ensuring that the patient was received and treated promptly within the “golden time” for emergency stroke care, avoiding dangerous complications. With a sense of responsibility for human life, in the midst of a life-and-death situation, it was the courage and heart of a physician that helped Dr. Long Chau make timely and accurate decisions.

In a thank you letter shared on social media, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh (the patient's sister) stated: "I would like to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Trang at FPT Vaccination Center Long Chau Cach Mang Thang 8, Ho Chi Minh City, who promptly discovered and provided emergency care to my family member who had a stroke at the "golden moment". While my family was still confused and had not yet realized the emergency situation, not knowing where to turn, we just remembered that there was a Long Chau vaccination center near our house so we asked for help, the doctor quickly rushed to this matter even though it had nothing to do with vaccination. The doctor's quickness, dedication and solid expertise not only saved a person's life but also brought hope and deep gratitude to the whole family. Once again, I would like to thank Dr. Trang in particular and the Long Chau vaccination center for always being dedicated and constantly spreading good things to the community".

Doctor Dang Thi Trang recalls: "At that time, I didn't think much, I just knew that the patient needed me. As a medical practitioner, as long as there is a small opportunity, I have to take it, because behind each patient is a whole family waiting. In the fragile boundary of life, the patient's health, responsibility and medical ethics are what Long Chau's medical team always puts first. Thinking back now, at times like this, I feel even more that FPT Long Chau's orientation and way of serving the community is extremely practical for the people."
