Forever love between army and people
In recent days, in the villages of Ka Nau, Kon Lot, Ha Giao, Chom village... (Canh Lien commune, Van Canh district), many new houses have appeared, with tiled or cold corrugated iron roofs shining brightly.
In many Ba Na homes, the joy of having just been "given" brand new, neat houses by the government and the army is still not over.

Mr. Dinh Van Truc's family (53 years old, Ka Nau village) just had their house rebuilt, so they were in a happy mood, as if they were going to a festival. For a long time, Mr. Truc lived in an old, makeshift house.
Mr. Truc's family received 60 million VND in support from Binh Dinh province, along with his savings and donations from officers and soldiers of the Binh Dinh Provincial Military Command, adding an additional 40 million VND.
On the day Mr. Truc broke ground to build his house, dozens of soldiers and officers came to help him. The soldiers transported materials, mixed mortar, and directly built the house for Mr. Truc.
In no time, Mr. Truc's new house took shape, solidly built among the rolling hills and mountains...
“I am so happy to have a new house to live in, I don’t know what to say. I am very grateful to the State and the soldiers. From now on, with a new house, I feel very secure, so I will try to work hard to become richer,” Mr. Truc said happily.

Chairman of Van Canh District People's Committee Duong Hiep Hoa said that Canh Lien commune is located far up in the sky, passing through many consecutive slopes like reaching to the sky, so it is often compared to Canh Lien "heaven's gate".
In 2025, there are 156 Ba Na households in Canh Lien who need to repair or build new houses. However, initially, due to the remoteness of the commune and difficult travel, transporting materials and supplies was very difficult.
Faced with this reality, the Binh Dinh Provincial Military Command stepped in, setting up a forward command post, assigning dozens of officers and soldiers to stay at the “heaven’s gate” to support people in building and repairing temporary and dilapidated houses. The military also mobilized 3 more trucks to support the free transportation of supplies and materials from the plains to Canh Lien.

After nearly 3 months of operation, through a rainy season, the army contributed 2,030 working days, transporting 185 trucks of supplies and materials weighing over 1,050 tons to 101 households.
After months of clinging to the Canh Lien mountains and forests, the cadres and soldiers have also received much affection and trust from the ethnic minorities. From there, it helps deepen the affection between the army and the people, like “fish and water”, contributing to consolidating the people’s hearts, enhancing and shining more the qualities of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, soldiers of the people in the new era.
- Colonel Nguyen Xuan Son, Political Commissar of Binh Dinh Provincial Military Command expressed.

Together, united
Remember, on the morning of February 9, 2025, all 11 districts, towns and cities of Binh Dinh simultaneously launched the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses.
On the groundbreaking day, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, said that the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in this province will not start until 2025 but has been implemented since 2019.
By 2024, the province will have completed 5,300 houses. In 2025, the province will continue to eliminate 4,411 more houses and set a target of completing them in more than 100 days.

At that time, the Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee emphasized: “From now on, all localities must consider the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor and policy families as a top priority task. We must make efforts, no matter how difficult it is, we must complete it…”.
However, the process of starting the work also encountered many difficulties and obstacles. At that time, according to a leader of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Binh Dinh province), just mobilizing people to choose a date to start building a house was also very difficult. Because in some places, people choose the date to start construction and groundbreaking very strictly and carefully. Many localities encountered difficulties with construction materials and even encountered shortages or increased prices of materials...

In mid-late March 2025, the 22nd session of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province took place, at this time the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses still had more than 1,000 unfinished houses. In front of delegates and voters across the province, the Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee was very concerned, he asked localities to show high determination and assign responsibility to the leaders of each district and commune...
At that time, when the Central Committee assigned parallel tasks of streamlining the apparatus, many cadres appeared to be mentally disturbed and worried.
Many cadres are agitated, thinking "I don't know if I will work tomorrow". I suggest that we comrades need to uphold the revolutionary spirit, as long as there is one day, we still have to work, complete the assigned tasks, and not falter. We should always think about the mission of serving the people, for the sake of social security for the people, so we are determined to complete it.
- Mr. Ho Quoc Dung emphasized at the Provincial People's Council meeting in March 2025.

Thanks to the determination and high consensus from top to bottom, by mid-May 2025, more than 4,411 temporary and dilapidated houses in Binh Dinh were demolished.
Tay Son and Tuy Phuoc districts were the first to "fire fireworks" in the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

In the "flood center" of Pho Trach (Phuoc Quang commune, Tuy Phuoc district), Mr. Tran Van Chin emotionally said: "I had an accident in 2015, lost my ability to work, my house was degraded and unsafe, so I have been very worried about my wife and children for a long time. Fortunately, the State supported 60 million VND and many donations and savings, so I built a new house. Now I no longer have to worry about rain, wind, storms and floods. I will try to work hard and take care of my children's education."
Ending a mission, extending tens of thousands of dreams
According to Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung, despite experiencing difficulties and challenges while performing many tasks in parallel, especially the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, many cadres are very concerned.
However, determining the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses as the top priority, the entire provincial political system put aside their own concerns and did their best.

“As I said, we still have one day to work to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for people and families with meritorious services. And today we have successfully completed the task, to move towards ending the historical mission of the district-level government with honor and pride,” the Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee emphasized.
