In her congratulatory remarks, Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, stated that the rich and vibrant experience of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam has provided many profound lessons of lasting value for the work of the Front and the building of national unity today. Regardless of the revolutionary period or the name, the Front has always retained its meaning as belonging to the nation, unifying the will, action, and revolutionary goals, and serving as the broadest gathering place for the masses, carrying the strength of the people's will. The lessons from the Front's tradition are the spirit of unity to build, defend, and develop the country; unity to stabilize society, improve people's lives, and achieve the great goals of the nation.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Ton Nu Thi Ninh, former Vice Chair of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee, former Vietnamese Ambassador to the European Union and Belgium, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Peace and Development Fund, and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Peace Committee, stated that the seminar is a practical activity to build bridges of solidarity, to look back at history and the past, to look towards the future, and to draw practical lessons for building the future to continue the success of the country and the nation in the new period.
Ms. Ha Thanh, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, stated that the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam is a shining symbol of the will for independence, national unity, and the spirit of connecting all patriotic classes and forces in the struggle for independence, freedom, peace, and national reunification. These values not only belong to history but continue to illuminate the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City today.
According to Ms. Ha Thanh, the seminar not only reviewed a glorious period of history but also uncovered profound lessons about solidarity, tolerance, and respect for differences, contributing to the further dissemination of the message of national unity, the aspiration for peace, and the spirit of "connection - sharing - companionship" among generations of Vietnamese people, creating new inspiration for the cause of peace, development, friendship, national unity, and harmony.
In a letter sent to the symposium, on behalf of the generations of leaders, cadres, and soldiers who had served and fought under the banner of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam and the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, former Vice President, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and former Head of the negotiating delegation of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam that signed the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam, affirmed that historical practice shows that the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam clearly demonstrated the spirit of great national unity between North and South, which no force could divide. This is an invaluable historical lesson for the Vietnamese nation, showing that when there is a solid national unity, it can mobilize broad international support and solidarity.

At the seminar, delegates also listened to moving accounts from historical witnesses and former officials of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam about their memories of revolutionary activities and the struggle for national independence and reunification before the complete victory on April 30, 1975.
Mr. Kieu Xuan Long, a former official of the Intellectual Mobilization Department of the Saigon - Gia Dinh Regional Party Committee, shared the significance and importance of the Alliance of National, Democratic, and Peaceful Forces of Vietnam in uniting and connecting Vietnamese people both inside and outside the country, creating strength in the struggle for national independence and reunification; demonstrating the correctness of Ho Chi Minh's thought on national unity, creating the strength and success of the revolution.
Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President of Vietnam, and Mr. Pham Chanh Truc, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, shared memories of their time leading the youth and student forces in Saigon's struggle against the South Vietnamese government. They argued that the birth and historical mission of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam reflected President Ho Chi Minh's ideology of national unity, consistently implemented throughout the Vietnamese revolution, not only during the struggle for national independence and reunification but also having practical value for the later stages of national defense, construction, and development.
